Position Summary:

The Part-Time Warehouse Laborer (Cold Storage & Freezer) is responsible for performing a variety of essential warehouse operations in temperature-controlled environments, including refrigerated and freezer storage. Responsibilities include unloading inbound shipments, organizing inventory, picking and packing orders, and ensuring accurate shipment processing.

This position demands a strong attention to detail, the ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the physical capability to work in cold and sub-zero conditions for extended periods. Candidates must be reliable, safety-minded, and capable of maintaining high productivity and accuracy levels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Follow all warehouse operational procedures and safety guidelines, including those specific to cold and freezer environments.
  • Safely and efficiently handle receiving, sorting, storing, and staging of product in chilled and frozen storage areas.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders with accuracy and care.
  • Conduct visual and physical inspections of inbound shipments for temperature integrity, damage, and product quality.
  • Accurately verify inventory counts, match shipments to paperwork, and report discrepancies (shortages, overages, damages, mis-shipments).
  • Use warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks) in a safe and effective manner.
  • Complete inventory cycle counts and support audit processes as directed.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards, with an emphasis on cold-chain compliance.
  • Follow proper cold storage procedures to ensure product quality and food safety standards.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of trucks, ensuring temperature-sensitive items are handled appropriately.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements "The Person":
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of warehouse or material handling experience, preferably in a refrigerated or freezer environment.
  • Experience using warehouse technology such as RF scanners, handheld devices, or warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team with a sense of urgency and accountability.

What You'll Do

  • Manage daily shipment operations across multiple customer accounts
  • Build, schedule, and track freight shipments
  • Monitor and manage 100+ pickups and deliveries per day
  • Troubleshoot delays, appointment changes, and service issues
  • Provide consistent updates and support to customers throughout the shipment lifecycle

Who You Are

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Customer-service oriented with strong communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities

Experience

  • 2+ years of operations or account management experience at a freight brokerage preferred
  • Experience managing high shipment volume

Our client, a respected professional organization based in Kansas City, is seeking a Consultant – Event Project Manager to support the planning and execution of a large-scale annual industry summit. This is a part-time contract role expected to run through the end of the year, with hours increasing significantly as the event approaches.

This role is best suited for someone who sees the full picture of a complex event and can drive timelines, coordinate stakeholders, and ensure all moving parts come together seamlessly. While event coordination experience is helpful, this position leans heavily toward project management and adult learning program development rather than traditional meeting logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage overall project timelines and ensure cross-functional deliverables stay on track
  • Coordinate meetings with internal departments and track follow-ups and deadlines
  • Support development of event themes, programming structure, and attendee experience
  • Lead keynote speaker coordination and related logistics
