• Provide overall leadership and operational oversight for the community

About the Company

The Chief Nursing Officer is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the overall operations of Nursing/Patient Care Services. Ensures compliance with patient quality standards as it relates to the care provided to all patients. Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in Quality Initiative activities. Assures competency of all nursing personnel. Maintains efficient and effective departmental operations while required compliance with all state, federal and local regulations laws, standards, and protocols. Direct training and instruction to entire nursing department to include students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field
• Postgraduate degree in the nursing or related field (MBA, MSN, MS-HA), or be currently pursuing this type of degree

Required Skills

• 5 years of hospital-based experience as RN or another clinical role
• 3 years of RN/clinical leadership (DON or CCO)

Preferred Skills

• Valid RN license for state or valid compact license
• BLS
• ACLS upon hire or within 90 days of start date

Key Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills; comfortable interacting with residents, families, and staff at all levels

Position Overview

• Oversee and assist with implementation of the monthly calendar of events
• Plan and execute special events for residents
• Complete MDS assessments

Qualifications

• College degree REQUIRED (Recreational Therapy or Creative Arts preferred)
• Skilled Nursing/Long-Term Care experience REQUIRED
• Activity Professional Certification for Long-Term Care preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Demonstrated success creating innovative, engaging activity calendars
• Prior management experience
• Non-profit experience a plus
