Responsibilities
- Provide locum tenens backup coverage for hospital cardiothoracic surgery services and cardiac surgery call
- Perform bypass surgery (CABG) and other required cardiothoracic procedures
- Participate in morning rounding with the physician assistant (PA), typically 2–4 hours depending on patient census
- Collaborate with the PA and the surgical team; PA will take calls and escalate urgent or emergent issues as needed
- Ensure continuity of high-quality patient care during scheduled coverage periods, including perioperative management and postoperative follow-up

About the Clinician's WorkdayThe clinician will provide 24/7 call coverage for neurointerventional radiology cases, maintaining availability to reach the hospital within 45 minutes when called. Responsibilities include performing complex interventional procedures for stroke patients such as thrombectomies, diagnostic angiograms, coilings, stents, and AVM embolizations. The position requires working 10-12 call shifts monthly with preferred scheduling of 10 straight days/nights on or 5 on/5 off rotations. All cases must be handled promptly when they arrive, with comprehensive support from 24/7 in-house APP coverage and specialized neurology teams.
