Head of FP&A
Job Description
The Opportunity:
A Tenex Capital Management portfolio company is seeking a Head of FP&A to build and lead a high-impact financial planning & analysis function. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will own budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis while serving as a true business partner to operations and leadership.
This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced, private equity-backed environment. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical capabilities with a practical, operational mindset and a willingness to engage deeply in how the business runs.
Key Responsibilities:
FP&A Leadership
- Lead and develop the FP&A function, including 2–3 direct reports aligned by region
- Establish clear ownership, accountability, and consistent output across regional and corporate FP&A
Planning & Forecasting
- Own the annual budget, monthly forecasting process, and long-range planning
- Build and enhance financial models to support revenue, margin, and working capital planning
- Drive improved forecast accuracy and visibility into key business levers
Business Partnership
- Act as a strategic partner to operations, sales, and leadership
- Support board / executive-level meetings with clear financial narratives and analysis
- Deliver deep-dive analysis on regional performance, margins, and operational KPIs
Operational Immersion
- Develop a hands-on understanding of the business including field ride-along and field exposure
- Gain direct understanding of AR, billing, collections, and cash conversion
- Ensure FP&A reflects real operational drivers, not just reporting
Execution & Special Projects
- Initially own one region and corporate FP&A responsibilities to accelerate onboarding
- Support cash forecasting, working capital management, and liquidity visibility
- Lead ad hoc analysis and key initiatives
Process & Infrastructure
- Improve FP&A processes, tools, and reporting
- Build a collaborative, responsive, execution-oriented finance function
- Provide and streamline SG&A analysis, reporting and feedback
Candidate Profile
Experience:
- 8–12+ years in FP&A, corporate finance, or related roles
- Experience in multi-site or project-based business preferred
- Private equity-backed experience preferred
