The Opportunity
As an Intermediate Teller you will be accountable for delivering superior and prompt customer service by performing transactions as requested on a variety of banking services through the lobby and/or drive thru in alignment with defined guidelines and process. You will respond to and advise customer inquiries on product features and services as well as be knowledgeable of prescribed policies, procedures, regulations and guidelines associated with USAA's banking products.
This job profile is designated as a Sensitive Position. Sensitive Positions are those positions in which individuals have the authority and ability to conduct in-scope activities (movement of USAA or Member funds) as defined within the Enterprise Sensitive Positions Mandatory Time-Away Compliance Policy. Employees in Sensitive Positions are required to fulfill a Mandatory Time-Away (MTA) requirement of 10 consecutive business days each calendar year.
This role is available at our San Antonio Office, in office 5 days per week.

What you'll do:
Works under general supervision and is accountable for delivering outstanding customer service in performing a variety of basic banking services though lobby and/or drive thru.
Resolves member issues and/or complaints in a professional manner; collaborates with team members to resolve issues and to identify appropriate issues for customer concern and seeks management assistance as needed.
Follows operational processes, procedures, and requirements and applies their job experience to carry out moderately complex work assignments, like estate accounts and special endorsements.
Maintains low error ratio, teller cash drawer limits and remains within cash outage allowance.
Identifies new and emerging fraud transactions and provides accurate, timely communication to management to mitigate loss.
Responds to and advises member inquiries on product features and services.
Recognizes and refers potential product needs and self-service opportunities.
Maintains and adheres to all policies, regulations, guidelines, and procedures applicable to Teller Operations (i.e. Patriot Act - Anti-money Laundering, Regulation CC, OFAC, etc.).
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma required.
1 year of customer service experience as a teller, in financial services, or retail sales environment.
General math and calculator skills with the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
Strong organizational, and communication, and customer service skills.
Basic knowledge of applicable banking regulations, guidelines, and procedures.

The Opportunity
The Intermediate Life Solutions Specialist helps to ensure the financial security of our membership by assessing member life insurance needs, providing advice and / or referrals for advice, and making the appropriate recommendations based on members' individual needs and goals. May provide support to Health Solutions acquisition and retention based on member demand.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 5 days per week, with the opportunity to move to a hybrid schedule after 6 months. This position can be based on the Plano, TX Campus . Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do:
- Receives request for advice from current and prospective members through various channels, including inbound and outbound phone calls, emails, faxes, and video telephony. Special Acquisitions team employees will primarily place outbound calls triggered from underwriting work items. Life Regulatory team employees respond to specific regulatory/business needs as directed by policies and procedures.
- Asks questions to discover key information, including life events, and to understand member needs. Documents relevant information. Life Regulatory team employees ask specific questions, often scripted, as needed to complete regulatory requirements and document relevant information.
- Uncovers and recognizes life events, understands and assesses the member's needs, financial situation, and goals. Assesses member financial situation and goals. Life Regulatory will refer members to Life Sales representative for advice and recommendations.
- Develops and communicates appropriate life insurance strategies based on individual member needs. Provides foundational protection planning advice, including insurance protection. Life Regulatory will refer members to Life Sales representative for advice and recommendations.
- Recommends relevant life insurance product and solutions and refers members who may need financial advice to the respective department. Life Regulatory will refer members to Life Sales representative for advice and recommendations.
- Motivates member to take action on recommendation(s) and resolves objections using foundational sales techniques and foundational persuasion skills. Implements recommendation(s).
- Monitors legislative initiatives that may impact economy, society, and personal financial situation.
- Educates membership on implications of economic, investment market and industry trends and tax law changes, as well as USAA's products and services.
- May conduct outbound follow-up calls to complete member acquisition of products and services previously discussed.
- Collaborates with team members to resolve issues and to identify appropriate issues for escalation.

Qualifications
- ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
- At least one year of hospital-based RN experience required.
- Telemetry experience required. IMC/Stepdown experience preferred.

Our IMC unit is comprised of 30 beds with a 1:4 nurse to patient ratio. You will be playing a crucial role in making our community at Lake Havasu City healthier and will be part of a team with a positive and collaborative work environment. This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively across disciplines to coordinate patient care as well as opportunity for growth and enhance your skills in critical care. In this position you will work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
How you'll contribute
A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:
- Provides direct patient care in the IMC unit using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
- Develops nursing care plan in coordination with patient, family and interdisciplinary staff as necessary.
- Communicates changes in patient's clinical condition with Physicians, Nursing Supervisor/Manager, and co-workers as appropriate.
- Provide appropriate care for patients moved from ICU to IMC, utilizing critical care skills and professionalism.
- May float to Med/Surg floor or may float to ICU/ED if trained (experienced).

What we're looking for
Applicants should have a current Arizona RN license and possess an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:
- Education: Bachelor of Science (BSN) preferred
- Certification: Basic Life Support certification required at hire (once ACLS obtained, BCLS no longer required)
- Additional: EKG Course, Moderate Sedation, and NIHSS Stroke within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter
- Certification: Advance Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 60 days of hire
- Certification: PALS and TNCC required within 6 months of hire
- Experience: Minimum of one (1) year Med/Surg/Telemetry required. IMC or ICU preferred.
