Responsibilities
The Boatswain's Mate (BM) has a rich history of honored traditions. As a BM, you will supervise the maintenance of your ship inside and out, in addition to a diverse roster of other responsibilities:
* Standing watch as lookout or Boatswain Mate of the Watch
* Repairing, maintaining and stowing equipment
* Training, directing and supervising ship's maintenance personnel
* Assisting as a search and rescue swimmer
* Operating sound-powered communication equipment
* Serving as a member of damage control, emergency and security alert teams
* Participating in Navy ceremonies
* Transferring supplies between ships while at sea
* Operating small boats, tugs, barges and other small craft
* Assisting with flight deck and amphibious operations
* Serving as flight deck crew during helicopter operations
* Supervising deck crew in cleaning, painting and maintaining the ship
* Directing boat crews in landing and rescue operations
* Teaching seamanship
Work Environment
Boatswain's Mates serve primarily on ships and can expect to travel the world over. Your responsibilities are performed mostly outdoors and you can expect work of a physical nature. You will not spend your entire career at sea, you may work in a variety of different environments when you're stationed on shore.
Training & Advancement
Upon completion of initial training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes (known as Boot Camp), you'll report for specialized training, including:
Boatswain Mate "A" School (5 weeks) in Great Lakes, IL, for training in basic general safety, watch standing, deck seamanship, underway replenishment and preventive maintenance.
Following "A" School, there may be additional opportunities for training before receiving your first assignment, such as amphibious training. After all training is completed, you may be assigned to a fleet unit or a shore station.
Promotion opportunities are regularly available but competitive and based on performance.
Advanced Training
Advanced training as a Boatswain's Mate may also be available during later stages of your career. For those with further leadership aspirations and a college degree, Officer roles may be available, providing opportunities to lead and train others.
Post-Service Opportunities
Specialized training received and work experience gained in the course of service can lead to valuable credentialing and occupational opportunities in related fields in the civilian world, such as occupational health and safety, motorboat operation and more.
Education Opportunities
Beyond offering access to professional credentials and certifications, Navy technical and operational training as a Boatswain's Mate can translate to credit hours toward a bachelor's or associate degree through the American Council on Education.

Qualifications & Requirements
A high-school diploma or equivalent is required to become an Enlisted Sailor and a Boatswain's Mate. You must also be a U.S. citizen eligible for security clearance.
Applicants for the BM rate possess good communication skills, including the ability to speak clearly. You should also be able to get along with others and work well as a team member.

Part-Time Opportunities
Serving part-time as a Navy Reserve Sailor, your duties will be carried out during your scheduled drilling and training periods. During monthly drilling, Boatswain's Mates in the Navy Reserve typically work at a location close to their homes.
For annual training, you may serve anywhere in the world, including locations in the U.S., at bases overseas, or in areas where humanitarian needs are great.

Most of what you do in the Navy Reserve is considered training. The basic Navy Reserve commitment involves training a minimum of one weekend a month (referred to as drilling) and two weeks a year (referred to as Annual Training) - or the equivalent of that.
Boatswain's Mates in the Navy Reserve serve in an Enlisted role. Before receiving the ongoing professional training that comes with the job, initial training requirements must be met.
For current or former military Enlisted servicemembers, prior experience satisfies the initial Recruit Training requirement, so you will not need to go through Boot Camp again.
For those without prior military experience, you will need to meet the initial Recruit Training requirement by attending Boot Camp in Great Lakes, IL. This training course will prepare you for service in the Navy Reserve and count as your first Annual Training.

Position Overview
The Advanced Practice Provider/Manager is a part-time, 10-month position (August through May), scheduled for approximately 24 hours per week during those months. This position is responsible to administer general medical care and treatment of traditional students and Postsecondary Enrollment Option (PSEO) students residing in the residence halls. This provider will advise Dean of Student Services and support staff as to operational needs and ensure quality, competent customer-focused care including the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of illnesses and injuries. This position is responsible to maintain an environment that wisely advises students as they navigate self-directed care options.
What will I do in this position?
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and referral for students? physical and psychosocial concerns, in accordance with state regulations, university protocols, and professional standards of care.
- Deliver primary care services during clinic hours, including infirmary care and emergency response support in coordination with campus safety personnel.
- Develop, implement, and maintain clinical policies, standing orders, and protocols in collaboration with the Medical Director to ensure safe, compliant, and evidence-based care delivery.
- Lead clinical operations for the health services unit, including medication inventory, health records oversight, laboratory testing coordination, and administration of immunizations, screenings, and therapeutic procedures.
- Serve as the primary clinical liaison for external medical and virtual care partners (e.g., TimelyCare), ensuring integration of services and continuity of care for students.
- Collaborate with campus departments and serve as a clinical consultant in multidisciplinary case management to support student health, retention, and academic success.
- Monitor campus health trends and lead efforts in prevention, health education, and student outreach that promote wellness, self-care, and health literacy.
- Provide pre-travel health consultations, including vaccinations and preventive care guidance aligned with CDC recommendations, in support of student international travel.
- Contribute to departmental planning and compliance efforts by maintaining clinical data, supporting assessment initiatives, and participating in continuous quality improvement.

Role: Microbiology Lab Technician
Openings: 3
Duration: 6-month contract (potential extension up to 12 months)
Pay Rate: $20-23/hr (based on experience)

Must Haves:
- 1–3 years of hands-on microbiology lab experience (academic or industry)..
- Ability to accurately record and organize experimental results.
- Experience preparing media, plating samples, and maintaining a clean lab environment.
- Basic proficiency in Excel for data entry and simple graphing.
Nice to Haves:
- Experience in food or beverage quality labs.
- Familiarity with PetriFilm products or similar microbiological testing methods.
- Knowledge of cGMP / ISO standards and SOP compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Perform microbiological testing to validate manufacturing changes for PetriFilm products.
- Prepare reagents, media, and samples for experiments.
- Record and summarize experimental results for review.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and troubleshoot experimental issues.
- Maintain calibrated equipment and ensure proper documentation in technical notebooks.
- Execute and maintain SOPs to meet regulatory requirements.
Day-to-Day:
Insight Global is seeking three Microbiology Lab Technicians to support the PetriFilm Manufacturing Transition Project. These roles will be 90% hands-on lab work and 10% basic data processing, working closely with senior team members to ensure product quality and consistency during a critical manufacturing move. Candidates will work full-time on-site in Oakdale, MN, assisting with sample preparation, plating, and accurate record-keeping. Ideal candidates will have experience in food safety or quality labs and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Our client is seeking a Custody Operations Analyst looking to grow their career in the banking industry and join their Reference Data Support team of 6 in St. Paul, MN. This person will be inputting coding data for other teams to utilize in their system. This involves working in a shared inbox and out of queue to input codes into multiple applications as well as back end processing and running reports, while confirming accuracy. The volume of requests can vary around 20-40 a day with same day deadlines and action items. The team will run reports and searches for reconciliation and accuracy. Therefore, the ideal candidate has experience working with deadlines, maintaining a strong attention to detail, great communication, work ethic and comfortable with repetitive tasks.
