The Systems Engineering, Integrated Systems Department is seeking a Systems Engineering Technical Lead for the NASAMS product line. This role requires strong technical expertise and engineering leadership skills to drive the design and development of world-class air and missile defense systems.
The Integrated Systems Department supports Raytheon by providing world-class weapon systems engineering. Domain expertise includes radar systems, effector systems, battle management, command and control, network design, battlespace integration, and interoperability for both domestic and international customers.
You will work alongside motivated engineers who are responsible for conducting systems engineering studies and trades; supporting system requirements definition and analysis; and contributing to algorithm development, integration, test, and evaluation.
What You Will Do
- Provide technical oversight and management for a variety of Systems Engineering efforts
- Concept and requirements development (including decomposition and flowdown) within a mature product-line
- Concept of Operations (CONOPS) development and design
- Algorithm optimization and development
- Multi-disciplinary development efforts across the kill-chain for an Air and Missile Defense System
- Collaboration with customer to bring new capabilities to the warfighter
- Functional analysis of real world and test data; trade studies to bring advanced features to fielded system
- Support and lead Internal and External Program and Design Reviews
- Collaborate with other IPT/CPT leads from the various functions and products
- Support and lead Internal Research and Development for future capability upgrades
- System integration and test support, including live fire test events
- Periods of travel up to 25% of time both domestically and internationally
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
- Experience with Air Defense Systems in systems engineering roles supporting development or production
- Experience with managing budget, scope and/or earned value

- Oversee day-to-day operational functions to ensure administrative, HR, financial, and office processes run efficiently.
- Serve as a central operational resource for leadership and employees, coordinating across departments and helping address organizational needs.
- Execute financial transactions including ACH transfers, wire payments, vendor payments, and company payroll at the direction of executive leadership.
- Coordinate with the VP of Finance Operations and Controller to support financial operations and maintain accurate operational records.
- Serve as the primary HR point of contact for employees, supporting benefits administration, company policies, and HR system management (BambooHR).
- Maintain accurate and organized HR and company documentation, including employee records and operational files.
- Oversee office operations, vendor coordination, and general workplace administration.
- Manage company communications including general email accounts, phone lines, and incoming mail distribution.
- Maintain company operational systems including vendor accounts, subscriptions, and shared administrative resources.
- Provide operational and administrative support to executive leadership and assist with internal operational projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, human resources, finance, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in operations, administration, HR coordination, office management, or a similar operational role.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience supporting HR, payroll, vendor payments, or administrative financial processes.
- Ability to handle confidential financial, payroll, and HR information with professionalism and discretion.
- Familiarity with HR systems such as BambooHR or similar platforms preferred.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating across teams in a hybrid work environment.

- DIL: bio to support next-gen sequencing group. Some are in the lab, some are writing codes and analytical pipelines, working with Client coding and development systems, collaborating with the lab team, lots of coding, working with quality teams to ensure meeting metrics.
- Should have experience with at least one or two of the following. e.g., FastQC, Bowtie2, SAMtools, NCBI BLAST+, Nextflow, etc.). NGS pipeline development.
- 9-5 some wiggle room if they need to come in earlier leave earlier, Onsite but if they need a day or two here and there they can request a day to work remote A strong candidate would have Coding experience, papers published on coding, need next gen sequencing analysis, gene therapy group so if they have some exp in that or bio that would be a great advantage.
- Relevant experience is more important than a degree for the role.
- Does not want to see anyone with zero coding experience. No mention of the tools list would be a hard pass.
- Support computational needs for the development and validation of NGS-based assays.
- Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers to implement genomic analytical solutions for programs spanning precandidate selection through late phase clinical development.
- Develop, execute, and maintain NGS analysis pipelines for execution in cloud-based computational environments.
- Keep records of development work and testing in a GxP environment utilizing electronic notebook solutions.
- Represent the group at internal meetings.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

- Minimum of 1 year of experience with NGS, spanning knowledge and hands-on dry-lab experience.
- Scripting experience in coding languages (e.g., bash, awk, Python, R, etc.).
- A strong candidate would have Coding experience, papers published on coding, need next-gen sequencing analysis, and gene therapy.
- Degree in a relevant computer science discipline with a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Minimum of 1 year experience with NGS, spanning knowledge and hands-on dry-lab experience.
- Expertise in bioinformatics with a working understanding of genomic analysis solutions (e.g., FastQC, Bowtie2, SAMtools, NCBI BLAST+, Nextflow, etc.).
- Scripting experience in coding languages (e.g., bash, awk, Python, R, etc.).
- Understanding of NGS platforms, specifically those utilizing the synthesis by sequencing technique (i.e., Illumina platforms).
- Ability to work independently and adapt under aggressive and/or changing timelines.
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle (e.g., Git).
- Automated unit testing for test-driven design (TDD).
- Familiarity with basic molecular biology techniques (e.g., ligation, PCR, and qPCR) as well as nucleic acid extraction and analysis techniques (e.g., Nanodrop, DNA fragment analyzers, ddPCR, etc.).
- Knowledge of and experience with other sequencing platforms (i.e., SMRT sequencing).
- Prior experience in leading the internalization of custom NGS analysis pipelines is highly preferred.
- Wet-lab method development experience to support NGS workflows.
