JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Magnetic Resonance Technologist is responsible for performing imaging procedures using sophisticated technology. The use of powerful magnetic fields combined with radiofrequency waves that require a high level of technical expertise to operate magnets of different field strengths. The MRI Technologist must adapt to changes in technology, new imaging techniques, and safe and effective imaging of patients with medical implants. Implants such as pacemakers, nerve stimulation devices and electronic pumps that can cause severe injury and or death within the MRI environment. The Technologist operates under the general supervision of the Radiologist and the MRI Supervisor.
- We are looking for MRI Technologists who embody:
- A comprehensive knowledge of magnetic resonance physics, biological effects to human tissue, medical implants and the ability to enforce MRI safety.
- An inherent compassion for patients with claustrophobia.
- Ability to provide mechanisms to assist the patient to overcome their discomfort.

EDUCATION:
- Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology (CAHEA/JRCT).
- Has advanced certification in MRI (ARRT or ARMRIT) OR will obtain MRI certification within 2 years of hire (tracked at Department level)

EXPERIENCE:
- Two years cross sectional imaging and/or computer assisted imaging preferred with one year full time experience in MR preferred.

- Schedule is three 12-hour shifts per week. Every third weekend.

Job Description:
An MRI Tech I is responsible for performing complex MRI exams on varying strength magnets using powerful magnetic fields combined with radiofrequency waves. Experience:
Two years of Radiology imaging experience, cross sectional imaging and/or computer assisted imaging preferred.
Knowledge/Special Skills:
For staff holding an ARRT license (not in MRI), Advanced MRI specific certification by ARRT is required within 2 years of hire within the MRI department. CE compliant according to governing body guidelines. BLS certified. Technical knowledge and expertise in cross sectional anatomy beneficial, not required.

The Diagnostic Imaging/CT Radiology Technologist is preferred to have a minimum of 3 years of experience in Diagnostic Imaging and/or CT and have committed hours to UVM Medical Center (UVMMC). They demonstrate progressive knowledge and sense of responsibility in the daily operations of the Radiology department. A Technologist in this position should expect to perform imaging examinations within both CT and Diagnostic Imaging modalities in a given shift. Join a dynamic, collaborative team of Adult & Child Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, Licensed Social Workers and Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselors who together provide a plan of care for our patients. This position will involve coordinating plan of care with primary care providers to include psychiatric consults, completing diagnostic evaluations and ongoing medical management services. Psychiatrists receive the support of RN Case Managers.
Community Health Centers are Federally Qualified Health Centers and provide a network of Family Practitioners, Psychiatrists, Dentists and Social Workers. CHCRR provides short term and ongoing psychiatric services to any medical patient of the organization. Our behavioral health program is one of the major psychiatric services within Rutland County. CHCRR utilizes an integrated Electronic Medical Record and Practice Management system.
