Job Overview:
Continental Tide is seeking an experienced and skilled Welder II for our Norfolk, VA office beginning on or around June 2nd . The successful candidate will join our Fleet Services Group performing various ship repair, modernization and Alteration Installation Team (AIT) projects.
Duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Knowledgeable in joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques.
- Perform various welding processes to repair, modify and install various pipes, structures, foundations and fittings associated with shipboard hydraulic, pneumatic and water systems.
- Fabricate and install fixtures and jigs required for welding process alignments.
- Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process.
- Must be able to select required welding filler materials, joint design, heat ranges and most effective or required welding process/procedure to ensure quality welding operations IAW TWD.
- Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness and adherence to NAVSEA, ABS & AWS standards. Installs or repairs equipment, such as pipes, valves, floors and tank linings.
- Leads technical project teams, schedules, reports and briefs customers and senior management.
- Performs duties outside of specialty in order to complete installation or work assignment.
- Experience in SMAW, GMAW & GTAW, Ship Fitting and OXY ACC & Propane GAS Cutting torch.
- Able to weld multiple types, thicknesses & sizes of pipe, plate & bar material in horizontal, overhead and/or vertical positions.
Experience and Skills
- Must possess a high school, trade or vocational school degree
- 5-10 years of direct experience in ship repair and installation of HM&E systems and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret ship installation drawings, installation specifications and NAVSEA Standard Items is preferred
- Must have or have the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance
- Must have the ability to obtain base access and security credentials
- Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs
- Ability to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces
- Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States

Steel America is seeking 2nd Class Inside Machinists experienced in Manual Machining and/or CNC Mills & Lathes to support operations in the Inside Machine Shop in Norfolk, VA.
Job Description:
- Examines blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Perform complex operations on various machine tools, including drill presses, lathes, milling machines, boring machines, and precision grinding machines.
- Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining.
- Read precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and indicators.
- Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
- Select standard materials required for fabrication and machining work.
- Perform the machining operations, watch for problems in the production process, and check the accuracy of the finished piece against blueprints / verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications.
- Observe equipment to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, adjust equipment controls as necessary, and verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
- Set up and operate all types of shop machining tools or equipment to manufacture various parts.

- Must have CNC Mills & Lathes experience as follows:
- Requires knowledge of some CNC programming with the ability to perform minor program edits on the shop floor. Requires more than CNC operation experience.
- Must have mechanical ability, manual dexterity, and hand/eye coordination required to perform various projects, per drawings, sketches, and verbal or written instructions.
- Must be familiar with the use of precision measuring instruments: outside/inside micrometers, depth mics, venires, etc.
- Must be able to write comprehensive Condition Found Reports (CFR) describing the material condition of the parts and assemblies being worked and recommendations for repair.
- Must be familiar with threading and the various measuring/gauging requirements.
- Must be skilled in the selection, set-up, and operation of the appropriate tool(s) for a given type of work.

Role Overview:
Our client is seeking contract attorneys barred and in good standing in any state with 1+ years of litigation experience to Work Remotely on a 1 plus year assignment. As a Hearing Representative, you will represent our client throughout the entire special education claims process—from intake to resolution or settlement.
Pay Rates:
- 1 to 7 years of experience: $41.75/hour
- 7+ years of experience: $43.75/hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Case Management: Manage a high-volume caseload of 100–200 special education claims, ensuring timely and effective handling.
- Representation: Prepare for and/or litigate complex cases involving significant legal precedents, policy implications, or financial impact. Represent the agency in administrative hearings, pre-hearing conferences, and settlement negotiations.
- Administrative Process: Navigate procedural requirements and ensure compliance with federal and state education laws and regulations.
- Documentation: Prepare and review all necessary filings, agreements, and reports with accuracy and thoroughness.
- Settlement Negotiation: Work with parents, public advocacy groups, and opposing counsel to reach fair resolutions while negotiating claims for attorney's fees.
- Training and Collaboration: Collaborate with special education specialists, technical experts, and attorneys; provide training to field staff and clinical staff on compliance with education laws.
- Research and Compliance: Analyze case law, gather evidence, and evaluate settlement demands. Provide guidance on compliance obligations to parents and students under hearing orders.
Required Qualifications:
- Bar Admission: Active bar license in good standing in any U.S. state.
- Litigation Experience: Minimum of 1+ years of recent litigation experience (more preferred).
- Tech Savvy: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues.
- Caseload Management: Proven ability to manage 100–200 cases concurrently.
- Timekeeping: Ability to log activities in 15-minute increments throughout the workday.
- Remote Work Skills: Dedicated workspace, reliable Wi-Fi, and comfort with virtual tools like Microsoft Teams and Outlook.
- Schedule Flexibility: Willingness to accommodate early morning hearings and work within Eastern Time Zone hours (7 AM–7 PM).
- Preferred Experience: Administrative Law, IEP/Special Education, Experience working for a government agency, Public Interest work, Settlement experience.
