As a Healthcare Financial/Actuarial Associate Director, you will be a key member of the Financial, Actuarial and Analytics (FAA) Community of Expertise. You will lead financial and actuarial engagements for a portfolio of clients and play a strategic role on complex accounts, delivering insights that shape benefit program performance. The Role
- Lead Client Engagements: Manage financial and actuarial deliverables for a portfolio of clients, or direct FAA resources for large, complex engagements.
- Financial Strategy and Modeling: Develop pricing strategies, employee contribution models, reserves, and forecasts across self-insured, fully insured, and alternative funding arrangements (e.g., minimum premium, level funding).
- Data Analysis and Insights: Clean, transform, and analyze large, complex integrated datasets (medical, pharmacy, enrollment) to produce actionable insights and client-ready reporting.
- Risk Management Expertise: Guide clients on funding strategies, underwriting pools, credibility methods, pooling point analysis, and stop-loss solutions to optimize risk management.
- Carrier and Market Assessment: Evaluate carrier pricing dynamics and market competitiveness, providing insights that support vendor selection, contract negotiations, and program optimization.
- Plan Design Consulting: Model plan design alternatives, assess impact on cost and employee experience, and guide strategic recommendations to clients.
- Team Leadership: Provide direction, coaching, and feedback to junior colleagues, supporting their technical and professional development.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Global Delivery Centers, Client Service Teams, actuaries, and clinicians to ensure seamless project execution and superior results.

Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in professional services, ideally in a benefits consulting, brokerage, underwriting, or actuarial capacity within an insurance or consulting firm.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; Actuarial designation (ASA/FSA) preferred.
- Proven ability to lead multiple clients/projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality work on time and within budget.
- Advanced knowledge of benefit plan design, funding approaches, underwriting principles, and post-employment concepts.
- Expertise in financial modeling and actuarial techniques, including pricing models, reserving frameworks, forecasting tools, and scenario modeling.
- Strong data acumen, with the ability to manage and interpret large, complex datasets to inform decision-making.
- Deep understanding of employer health risk management strategies, including stop-loss, credibility, and rating mechanics.
- Experience advising small to mid-sized employers, with sensitivity to unique plan design and cost-optimization considerations.
- Strategic thinker with a solutions-oriented mindset who can synthesize insights and translate them into clear, actionable client recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to confidently present complex financial concepts to executives (CFO, CHRO, CEO).

Key Responsibilities:
Client Strategy and Leadership
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of mid-to-large group benefits clients, within the C-suite and HR executive leadership, on primarily self-funded/self-insured plans (stop-loss placement, claims utilization analysis, and vendor/TPA management)
- Confidently lead presentations, renewal meetings, and strategy sessions in client, carrier, and industry-facing individuals with utmost professionalism
- Anticipate client needs by making proactive recommendations on alternative funding strategies, cost drivers, and long-term financial planning, strengthening retention and deepening new and existing partnerships
Business Growth and Operations
- Identify and cross-selling opportunities that will enhance client value and increase contribution toward company revenue growth
- Collaborate with carriers and TPAs to resolve escalated service issues and negotiate competitive renewals
- Partner with producers and leadership to design innovative client solutions and proposals
Team Development and Support
- Share knowledge and understanding of relevant market trends, regulatory updates, and best practices with colleagues to strengthen overall team performance
- Exemplify mentorship via demonstrating healthy workload prioritization, escalation of client issues, and implementation of strategic initiatives
- Deliver guidance on plan design, funding models, cost-containment strategies, and compliance requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- 7-10+ years’ employee benefits experience within an insurance brokerage
- Expertise with self-funded/self-insured health plans (required)
- Strong technical knowledge of group benefits products, funding models, and compliance requirements (i.e., ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, etc.)
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
- Proficiency in Applied Epic (preferred)
- Valid Life & Health Insurance License (required)
- Bachelors degree (required)

The Sales Account Executive, Occupational Health will be a field-based position focused on the acquisition, ongoing management, and growth of B2B corporate accounts throughout New Jersey and New York. This role partners with employers and organizational leaders to develop Occupational Medicine and Workers’ Compensation services, enhance the quality of offerings, drive departmental growth, and improve the overall employer experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicate the value of CityMD and Summit Health Occupational Medicine and Workers’ Compensation services toB2B corporate clients to drive volume and revenue growth.
- Apply a consultative sales approach to identify client needs and pain points, and provide tailored solutions from the various offerings
- Actively prospect to identify qualified leads, acquire new corporate accounts, and increase business of existing account relationships
- Build and manage new business pipeline and track all activity in Salesforce, allowing for accurate forecasting to hit sales targets
- Manage a portfolio of corporate accounts and strengthen employer relationships through strategic account management, including calls and in-person business review meetings.
- Leverage existing book of business to identify key stakeholders in multispecialty/referral process to expand Workers’ Compensation utilization to Summit Health
- Engage payer and third-party administrator stakeholders to develop key relationships with nurse case managers and adjusters to position Summit Health as their preferred provider network
- Serve as point of contact for corporate accounts, serving as their liaison to CityMD and Summit Health as immediate resource for support
- Conduct meetings with prospective and current clients virtually as well as in the field, including company offices/facilities and CityMD/Summit Health site locations
- Log all activities and lead/account information daily using CRM (Salesforce)
- Meet and/or exceed sales KPIs and goals, defined by leadership, through new business and retention sales efforts
- Work closely with other departments including but not limited to Operations, Academy, Medical Operations, Aftercare, IT, Analytics, Billing and Marketing to meet client needs, drive volume and ensure seamless operation processes for customer experience
- Participate in special events including but not limited to health fairs, promotional events and conferences
- Leverage corporate account relationships to drive downstream commercial opportunities to CityMD and Summit Health
Qualifications:
A candidate’s qualifications will include:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, public health or other applicable degree preferred
- 3+ years of experience in B2B sales and/or account management, within industry
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational, time-management and prioritization skills
- Self-motivated, entrepreneurial spirit who takes a proactive approach to business operations
- Ability to think critically, troubleshoot and solve complex problems in a fast-paced, data-driven environment
- Self-directed, resourceful and high attention to detail
- Positive and enthusiastic, and ability to project this around others
- Interpersonal flexibility to effectively interact with clients and internal and external teams

This is an exempt position. The base compensation range for this role is $75,000 - $92,000 per year depending on experience. At VillageMD, compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. The selected candidate will be eligible for a valuable company benefits plan, including health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and access to a 401k plan.
