SUMMARY

Provides medically prescribed physical therapy treatment for patients suffering from injuries, deconditioning, or muscle, nerve, joint, and bone diseases to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below:
Evaluates program participants through appropriate evaluation procedures and develops written treatment programs for each participant.
Administers appropriate treatment programs and communicates program participant needs to appropriate staff. Provides needed re-evaluation and programmatic changes as necessary.
Maintains timely and appropriate program participant/administrative and department documentation.
Ensures adherence to accreditation standards, licensure standards, professional code of ethics, and confidentiality.
Attends programmatic meetings on request for team reports, policy setting, exchange of information, etc.; attends other appropriate meetings/conferences as needed.
Attends clinical meetings to exchange, discuss, and evaluate program participant treatment programs.
Serves on rehabilitation treatment team(s). Communicates with physicians, staff, professionals/paraprofessionals, consultants, families, and community resources as needed to ensure effectiveness of physical therapy program.
Plans and implements in-service programs for staff and other groups as requested/assigned by supervisor.
Participates in orientation programs for new staff, program participants, and PT/PTA students.
Writes service summaries as requested by case manager/program director and maintains daily billing summaries and turns them into the appropriate staff.
Performs other related duties and activities as required.

SUMMARY

Administers physical therapy treatments to patients and works under the direction of and as an assistant to the Physical Therapists.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below:
Assures all program participants receive scheduled PT (Physical Therapy) treatments and documents therapy session or reason for inability to attend.
Performs active, passive and/or resistive therapeutic exercises, general therapy principles on program participants.
Performs therapeutic massage on program participants as needed.
Performs general mobilization and/or passive stretch to program participants, within LIMITS OF SAFETY regarding joint/muscle stretch.
Instructs, motivates and assists program participants in learning and improving functional activities.
Provides gait training and instructs program participants in the use of canes, crutches, walkers, braces and splints. Trains program participants at homebound and community level, including endurance training
Measures ROM, length and girth of body parts, vital signs, and MMT (manual muscle tests) to assist Physical Therapist in evaluating program participants and/or to determine the effectiveness of the program plan
Confers with staff members and other health care members to exchange, discuss and evaluate program participant information for modifying and coordinating current treatment program and participate in treatment planning with trans-disciplinary team as requested.
Ensures adherence to accreditation standards, licensure standards, professional code of ethics, and confidentiality.
Demonstrates knowledge of indications and contra-indications of physical therapy modalities and techniques.
Asses PT equipment and has a good working knowledge of physical therapy equipment and therapeutic exercise treatments.
Performs other duties as required.

Department: BHFC Rose City Shift: Day Working Hours: 8-5 Summary: The nurse is responsible for patient preparation, as well as, assisting the physician with medical procedures and minor surgeries.

Also performs various diagnostic tests, administration of medications, and patient education in the clinic.

Maintains equipment and acts as a liaison between the physician and all outside agencies to include hospitals, nursing homes, DME companies, pharmacies, HMO's and other physician's offices, as well as, with the patient.

Services Shift: Day Working Hours: 8a-5p Summary: Responsible for the auditing of patient bills and medical record documentation to ensure accurate charging based on billing and coding guidelines.

Will verify potential missing charges suggested by data analytics and internal reports.

Other information: Minimum of one of the following licenses or certifications required: RHIT, LPN, CCS, CPC, CPC-H, or COC.

Minimum of two years acute hospital inpatient and outpatient coding and/or charge auditing experience required.

Minimum of two years data analysis experience using spreadsheets software such as Excel (formula writing, pivoting and importing data).

Knowledge of billing guidelines from various payers (i.e., bundling CCI edits, medical necessity payment requirements, etc.).

Knowledge of charge master methodologies and association with billing processed preferred.

Knowledge of clinical and medical terminology.

Possess required PC competencies.

Department: Heart Station Shift: Day Working Hours: M,T,W,F or M-F Summary: Provides variety of sonographic images per approved protocols, maintains quality images and documentation, and responds to patient safety, mental and physical comfort.

Other information: Registered as an adult cardiac sonographer, ARDMS or CCI, within six (6) months of employment per the NICL Initial Period of Employment Policy.

A minimum of Associate degree, Bachelor degree preferred, in sonography or related field OR registry eligible with registry obtained within six months of employment date.

Failure to obtain cardiac registry will result in immediate termination.
