Job Summary and QualificationsThe Registered Nurse delivers professional nursing care to population-specific patients on the Acute Inpatient Units to include, Acute Care Medicine, Acute Care Telemetry, Acute Care Cardiac, Acute Care Cardiopulmonary, Chest Pain, Neuroscience, Neuro-Stroke, Neuro Spine, Observation, Ortho Surgical Trauma, Post-Surgical. Follows the Board of Nursing’s (BON) Standards of Nursing Practice utilizing the nursing process in care delivery. Maintains accountability for professional decisions and actions within the parameters of their legal scope of practice and in accordance with the federal, state, and local laws; rules and regulations; and policies, procedures and guidelines of Gulf Coast Division (GCD).
• Required to float to other areas in the facility within their competency range.
• Professional Nursing Organization Membership strongly encouraged.
• Certification in area of specialty preferred.
• Ability to work at a fast pace and to prioritize multiple assignments/projects and respond to numerous requests.
• Ability to resolve conflicts among staff and to work collaboratively with department director, physicians and other members of the healthcare team.

Position Summary
The Nurse Extern delivers high-quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living.
