Job Summary and Qualifications

As the PICU Clinical Coordinator you will collaborate with all other healthcare disciplines to achieve successful execution of the patient’s plan-of-care and goals of the department. You will serves as a professional role-model and interfaces directly with patients, families, physicians and staff. You will utilizes physical assessment skills and advanced diagnostic technology to aid in the assessment of the patient’s nursing care needs. You will continues to monitor and assess the patient’s physical condition, emotional and social needs, continually refining the plan-of-care to ensure achievement of the desired goals of the patient and facility outcomes. 


  • You will develop/approve unit schedules according to staffing guidelines.  


  • You coordinate employees’ attendance at scheduled/required education programs 


  • You will interpret hospital and personnel policies to physician, nursing staff, patients, visitors and other hospital personnel.  


  • You complete patient and employee incident reports and related paperwork within 24 hours of incident.  


  • You will coordinate unit functions with other hospital departments.  


  • You will maintain complete staff/patient assignment records 100% of the time.  


  • Assign staff according to staff abilities and skills and the patient’s acuity.

What qualifications you will need:

Experience 


  • 1 Year of RN experience - Required 


 Education 



  • Associates degree in Nursing 


  • Bachelors in Science in Nursing - Preferred 


Licenses and Certifications  


  • Texas registered nurse license 


  • Basic Life Support certification (BLS) 


  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) 


  • PALS must be obtained within six months of hire.
