Core Responsibilities
- Design and develop manufacturing processes, ensuring they meet technical specifications and industry standards.

Position Summary
The R&D / Product Development Manager is responsible for the development, optimization, and commercialization of gluten-free baked products within a commercial production environment. Key Responsibilities
Product Development & Formulation
- Develop, formulate, and optimize gluten-free & clean label baked goods, including dessert bars, cookies, cakes, and related products.
- Apply food science principles to improve taste, texture, structure, shelf life, and nutritional profiles.
- Evaluate and test ingredients (e.g., alternative flours, starches, gums, fibers, protein, enzymes) for functionality, shelf-life optimization and overall performance.
- Conduct bench-top, pilot, and plant trials to support new product development, process and product improvements.
Scale-Up & Commercialization
- Lead formulation and process scale-up from test kitchen to full commercial production.
- Partner with Operations, Quality Assurance, and Engineering to ensure smooth product launches and ongoing production stability and consistency.
- Troubleshoot formulation, process, and quality issues related to baking performance, yield, and finished product consistency.

- Budget & S&OP Support: Contribute to the development of sales budgets and support the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process by providing account-level forecasts and insights.
- Performance Monitoring: Track account performance against revenue, margin, and customer satisfaction KPIs. Provide regular reporting and insights to leadership.
- Issue Resolution: Proactively address customer concerns and coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely resolution.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field preferred – equivalent experience required.
- 8+ years of experience in sales, account management, or commercial operations.
- 2+ years of experience with S&OP processes and budgeting cycles.
- Strong understanding of pricing strategies, margin analysis, and quoting processes.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and data analysis tools.
- Background in manufacturing, automotive, or industrial sectors.
- Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, finance, and operations teams.

The Executive Administrative Assistant Position
The Executive Administrative Assistant focuses approximately half of their time within the Human Resources department. This includes performing a wide variety of administrative and organizational duties such as organizing and managing calendars, coordinating meetings, handling detailed administrative tasks, and ensuring daily departmental operations run smoothly. A keen attention to detail and a proactive “no task is too small” mindset is essential for success in this role.
The Executive Administrative Assistant also works closely with Walsh College’s Executive Leadership to provide executive support, prepare Board of Trustee meeting packets, compose and proofread documents and maintain an organized, efficient office environment.

The position reports directly to the Chief Officer of People Operations & Strategy. While this role is not fully on-site, candidates must be able to report to campus up to five days per week as business needs require, with an expectation of at least four on-campus days during onboarding and a long-term hybrid schedule of two to three days per week. Applicants seeking predominantly remote work or limited on-campus availability are not a fit for this role.
