Position Summary


Responsible for working within the scope of laboratory policies and procedures to provide specimen processing, test performance and result reporting. Performs test procedures authorized by the Medical Laboratory Director; with the degree of skill commensurate with individual education, training, experience and technical abilities. Insure that all laboratory testing is performed according to established protocols or procedures. Exercise professional judgment in evaluation and assessment of test performance, sample integrity, result accuracy and validity. Position Responsibilities


Standard Work Duties: Medical Technologist (PRN)

  • Participates in day-to-day operations in the laboratory to facilitate workflow, maximize output, and decrease turnaround times
  • Follows laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting and maintaining records of patient results
  • Utilizes job knowledge, judgment, and problem solving skills to ensure specimen quality
  • Operates, troubleshoots, and takes appropriate action when needed on all test systems
  • Identifies issues that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and takes appropriate action including supervisory notification if indicated
  • Participates in laboratory quality assurance programs including proficiency testing
  • Follows established safety and biohazard procedures and standard precautions at all times. Disposes of biohazard waste following laboratory protocols (Laboratory Safety Manual and Chemical Hygiene Plan)
  • Monitor quality control of laboratory instruments and test assays. Communicate with supervisor as needed. Responsible for routine preventive maintenance, minor repair, and troubleshooting of instruments

Position Summary


The Clinical Dietitian is responsible to the Clinical Nutrition Manager. He/she works across the institution to provide quality nutritional support services. He/She consistently contributes to a multidisciplinary, collaborative effort to ensure positive patient outcomes. The Clinical Dietitian works with the food service management and staff to coordinate delivery of the prescribed diet and meet the nutritional needs of the patient. He/she is responsible to practice within their scope of licensure in accordance with approved policies, procedures and protocols. He/she must effectively interact with patients, families, physicians and other health team members while maintaining standards of professional nutritional care. He/she must identify opportunities for and contribute to the improvement of quality, safety and cost, as well as patient, customer, and employee satisfaction.   • Evaluate patients for nutritional status based on nursing screening criteria/consults/screening reports and within the scope of established dietetic practice standards, federal/state regulations and The Joint Commission standards with a monthly productivity level of 1.2., validated by weekly productivity logs and monthly chart review.
  • Implement and monitor nutrition care plans and document according to standards of care criteria with reassessments completed within three to five days for moderate risk and within 48 hours for high risk patients, as validated by monthly chart review; collaborates with fellow team members and communicates nutrition care plan when transferred to other units, when other team members are covering or weekend coverage and validated by chart review with the dietitian.
  • Collaborate with and communicate effectively with physicians and members of the multi-disciplinary team to integrate information which refines and contributes to the overall medical care of the patient, with specific emphasis on nutritional care, through daily rounds, as validated by the customer feedback process and monthly chart review.
  • Develop, coordinate and provide nutrition education to patients, families, staff, and physicians to ensure that nutritional care is maintained across the continuum of care and into the home/recovery setting through one on one, small groups, classroom setting and community setting as evidenced by weekly productivity log and participation in community programs.

Position Summary

  • Determines whether the coding assigned was properly assigned based upon clinical indicators and review of the medical documentation and application of coding guidelines.
  • Develop and apply appeal arguments to defend the coding and clinical decisions while being able to address and refute the coding determination made by the carrier/payer.
  • Drafts appeal letters, including the coding argument with clinical and coding references, to support the coding decision. This may include providing additional medical record documentation.
  • Identifies areas for education to improve complete and accurate coding and billing and provide feedback to management regarding trends or patterns noticed in the coding for discussion.
  • Continued follow-up on denials as payers may continue to deny. Collaboration with Physician Advisor as required to continue appeal process.

Position Summary


The Epic Server Engineer will be responsible for implementing and supporting Epic EHR solutions client and server components that take into account appropriate redundancy, availability, scalability, security and manageability requirements of Lakeland Regional Health’s IS Department. This individual will be part of a team that is responsible for the technical strategy, vision, architecture and evolution of LRH’s Epic implementation(s), infrastructure and ancillary technologies. This role will be responsible for implementations including, but not limited to, MyChart, Epic-Link, Epic Hyperspace Web, Epic interconnect servers, Epic FIPS servers, BCA and Web deployment, Kuiper, Haiku, and Canto to support Lakeland Regional’s patient, guest and employee population. He/she must have the experience and technical competence to implement server and application infrastructure, validate implementations and ready systems for operational hand overs. This individual will work collaboratively with other groups participating in system sustaining engineering activities such as upgrades, maintenance, enhancements, and expansions as well as provide last-level support of escalated technical issues. Knowledge of Cache or dba practices, VMware, Active Directory, and Citrix XenDesktop, and NetScaler preferred.

Standard Work: IS Epic Server Engineer

Implements, manages and maintains the Epic Windows and Linux Server infrastructure, including installing/upgrading and/or deploying Epic applications on servers and clients using Kuiper, and System Pulse

Manage and maintain Epic Virtual Servers, Hyperspace, EPS, Web BLOB, Hyperspace Web, BCA, MyChart, Carelink\Healthy Planet, Haiku, Rover, Care Everywhere, Home Health, Kuiper, and System Pulse services

Support of other Epic Windows and Linux based applications as well as assisting other Epic 3rd party applications teams with their integration into Epic as needed

Uses processes for monitoring performance of installed systems or services and takes corrective actions when necessary. Uses tools for capacity planning, reporting, and proactive problem solving. Screen and analyze application performance for potential bottlenecks, specify possible solutions, and act jointly with developers to apply those fixes

Acts as a technical resource to evaluate evolving infrastructure technology and perform as a consultant interface to the business and clinical units for new company initiatives. Gather requirements from functional teams for their integrations with third party products

Supports third party software implementation as a technical resource and maintains private and public cloud infrastructure

Identify, repair, and resolve any Epic system hardware or software failures within the enterprise, in a timely manner and following company procedures and standards

Evaluate applicable requirements to provide appropriate technical specifications and solutions for new and existing implementations

Work closely with other departments, teams and engineers to build and troubleshoot virtual and physical systems and software implementations

Develops and maintains systems documentation and technical procedures, user guides and run-books
