Role Overview:

The Scientist I PRD is responsible for conducting small to large scale chemical reactions to optimize synthetic routes of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) under the direction of project technical leads to deliver projects on target with quantity, quality, time, and within budget.

In response to new growth and a high level of client demand, we are expanding our technical team. The Scientist I will be instrumental in meeting this momentum by conducting small to large-scale chemical reactions to optimize synthetic routes for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs). Working under the direction of project technical leads, you will ensure the seamless delivery of high-priority projects by meeting strict targets for quantity, quality, and timeline, all while maintaining budgetary efficiency.

Core Responsibilities:

• Delivers experimental output with a high scientific integrity, both on time and target, and of high quality with guidance.

• Exhibits safety awareness, safely conducts lab and other operations and hold themselves accountable for safe behavior in the work environment.

• Lead technical and operational areas and support troubleshooting for complex scientific issues under minimal guidance.

• Expertly shares knowledge, skills and experience, communicating internally and externally. May lead focused projects as key contact; Keeps accurate, legible and complete records of all experiments, observations, and equipment and writes high quality reports and delivers presentations to customers and management with some guidance in alignment with project milestones.

• Actively contributes to the technical development of the department and company and acts on feedback and show continuous commitment to learning and development.

• Contributes to audit readiness and participating in quality audits with FDA, other regulatory agencies, and customers, as needed.

• Follows and abides by all EHS policies, practices, and procedures associated with department specific responsibilities; Demonstrates technical and procedural proficiency and self-assuredness in applying EHS standards; Supports Veranova’s commitment to EHS by applying ISO

14001, OHSAS 18001, and Sustainability principals into daily activities; Reports all near misses, accidents, and dangerous occurrences through the appropriate Veranova procedure to ensure an investigation is initiated; Ensures work complies with all state and federal regulations, including GMP, DEA, FDA, etc.

• Cooperates with all root cause investigations and follows corrective actions and compliance with Veranova’s policies and procedures, and all state and federal regulations within the department.

Qualifications:

• PhD degree (or equivalent experience) in a chemistry related discipline.

• Proficiency with relevant lab and analytical techniques.

• Ability to write clear and concise technical reports.

• Good understanding of Microsoft Office and other relevant technical software platforms

• Skilled in written and spoken communication and proven ability to effectively interact with management; Demonstrates good judgment, quick decision-making skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Salary Range: $105,000-$115,000 annual base salary.

The salary range for this role is $105,000-$115,000. This range represents a good-faith estimate of the compensation we expect to offer for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity. In exceptional cases, compensation may exceed the stated range.

All full-time employees are eligible to participate in our annual incentive bonus program. Bonus targets vary by career level and are based on individual and company performance.

Raytheon is currently seeking a Senior Test Equipment Design Engineer to join the Sensor Test Solutions (STS) Department. This is an excellent position for engineers with a background in electrical design and software programming/automation, along with a desire to apply those skills to developing, building, and integrating advanced test platforms and architectures.

You will be joining a project team responsible for the development of test solutions and architectures for various programs within Raytheon. Typical test development applications include analog/digital, RF, High Power, and embedded software/firmware design activities. Test architectures include a blend of customized and COTS Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), along with custom electro-mechanical holding fixtures and associated interface cabling and harnessing.

Engineers in this role will also have exposure to the full lifecycle development process - from the requirements definition phase of the test solution design process through the verification and final system sell-off in a production facility or field/depot environment.

What You Will Do

• Develop test hardware, software, and/or firmware, from requirements definition through deployment at manufacturing or customer facilities. These test capabilities may span multiple disciplines (Power, RF, Analog, Digital)
• Lead smaller teams of engineers, overseeing the technical execution of project tasks as well as reporting of project status (cost and schedule) to STS department leadership
• Actively identify test readiness issues and optimizations throughout the development lifecycle
• Understand and meet established project budget, schedule, and performance commitments
• Guide mechanical engineering and/or suppliers through test adapter design activities, with moderate support from senior engineers

Naval Power is seeking a highly motivated Production Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) for the SPY-6 Array production program’s Array Build, Integration & Testing. This position reports to the SPY-6 Production Array Program Manager and leads the execution efforts of the recurring production sell-off.  This lead will be responsible for ensuring that equipment delivery commitments are made on time and within budget, focusing on Array Build Integration & Testing, and RHS assembly builds, including Mechanical Structures & RMA Chassis material. They are responsible for removing barriers and defining solutions that support the Production IPT and program.

In addition, it is expected this person will work across all Raytheon functional organizations to staff the Production IPT and ensure the timely start-up and delivery of products in accordance with the contract(s).  

This is an onsite position located at either our Andover or Tewksbury, MA facilities.

What You Will Do

• Establish and maintain a positive culture to which top talent is attracted.

• Provide leadership and direction for the cross-functional supply chain, operations, engineering, quality, test, and logistics teams in the Production IPT with an emphasis on mitigating technical risk, assuring continuous Array production and delivery of compliant hardware to the Navy.

• Collaborate with SPY-6 Chief Engineer to provide technical oversight of Array scope to include reviews of TDP changes, planning and execution of Array Production Test & FAIs.

• Lead MLAs/RFVs/MRBs for Array build and integration issues.

• Accountability for the production scope, including aligning product EACs with SOW definition, contract values and Program Management.

• Work with Customer counterparts to understand status, schedules, priorities and objectives for events.

• Participate in management of suppliers, in coordination with the supply chain function.

• Manage engineering staffing across the Production IPT.

• Developing presentations and presenting at program management reviews (PMRs), staffing reviews, and decision reviews to achieve contract commitments.

• Display strong communication, influence management, and presentation skills, and comfortably interact with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels of leadership.

• Support the program risk and opportunity process in accordance with specific financial goals and obligations.

• Travel to support supplier reviews and programmatic meetings.

What You Will Learn

• SBU & SSBU organizational structure, responsibilities amongst the programs and the functional areas, and deliverables.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience. 

• Prior IPTL experience.

• Experience with financial management/analysis tools.

• Prior experience on a low-rate initial production (LRIP) or full rate production program, preferably in the aerospace and defense industry.

• Experience presenting to internal Raytheon leadership, customers, partners, and/or subcontractors.

• Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain special program access prior to start. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Prior IPT lead experience with heavy interaction with Operations and Supply chain function.

• Experience working with production of SPY-6 Systems.

• Master’s Degree from an accredited university.

• Raytheon PM Certification Level 6 (or equivalent) or ability to obtain within a year.

• Demonstrated program execution experience managing program staffing, assignments and resources with cross-functional teams in an IPT organizational structure.

• Prior Functional leadership experience.

• Program execution experience under a firm fixed price contract structure.

• Demonstrated experience in leading a program or IPT over $50 million in annual sales.

• Experience working with Navy and/or International customers
