This job provides respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing and ventilation support services to both in-patients and out-patients ranging in age from neonatal to geriatric. The RT-CRT set-ups, monitors and weans Oxygen Therapy and Artificial ventilation. The RT-CRT draws, analyzes and reports Arterial Blood Gases and EKGs. The RT-CRT delivers intermittent therapy and assists with changing of artificial airways. The RT-CRT provides services as ordered by a physician and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Education
Required - High School diploma or equivalent

Certifications
Required - Current State of Louisiana License as a Respiratory Therapist
Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist

This job provides individualized, direct patient care of assigned patients by performing a variety of sonographic procedures and/or tests, not limited to electrocardiograms and associated stress tests, echocardiograms to include 2D/M Mode, Doppler and Color Flow imaging, Exercise Stress Echo and Dobutamine Stress Echo. Compiles history and diagnostic information from the examination, and presenting the preliminary sonographic findings. This job assesses patients and safely performs routine radiographic procedures in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and protocols. Serves as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students.

Education
Required - Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.

Work Experience
Required - None.
Preferred - Radiologic technology experience.

Certifications
Required - Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registry eligible, r egistered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 90 days of employment, and temporary state license required.
Current unrestricted license in the state of practice.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

* Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
* Strong interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work a flexible work schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability) and travel throughout and between facilities.

Job Duties

* Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy.
* Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care.
* Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
* Independently operates equipment to complete imaging procedure according to protocol (may include placement of nasogastric tubes, IVs, urinary catheters, and administration of contrast).
* Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure images meet diagnostic quality standards.
* Completes timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards and performing notification/remediation as warranted.
* Assists in the facilitation of departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance, etc.).
* Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
* Performs other related duties as required.
