The Role (Read This Carefully)

This is not a typical Dental Assistant role.

We are looking for a Lead Dental Assistant who can:

  • Run the back office with confidence
  • Be the right hand to the doctor
  • Elevate the performance of the entire clinical team
  • Drive efficiency, organization, and accountability

You will play a critical leadership role in the practice and directly impact production, patient experience, and team culture.


Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership

  • Lead and manage all back-office clinical operations
  • Ensure assistants are prepared, trained, and executing at a high level
  • Set the standard for clinical excellence and efficiency
  • Hold team accountable to protocols and workflows

Chairside Excellence

  • Assist doctor efficiently across a wide range of procedures
  • Anticipate doctor needs (next-level assisting)
  • Maintain smooth, fast-paced clinical flow

Case Acceptance & Patient Experience

  • Pre-heat patients for treatment before doctor exam
  • Reinforce doctor diagnosis with confidence and clarity
  • Help patients understand treatment and build trust
  • Support treatment presentation and case acceptance

Operational Execution

  • Ensure all rooms are fully set up and turned over efficiently
  • Oversee inventory and supply management
  • Maintain sterilization standards and compliance
  • Ensure X-rays, photos, and charting are done correctly and consistently

Team Development

  • Train and mentor dental assistants
  • Identify gaps in performance and correct them
  • Create a culture of accountability and growth
  • Work closely with the Office Manager to improve systems and workflows

What Were Looking For

  • Highly experienced (3+ years assisting, leadership preferred)
  • Confident and assertive (in a positive, team-first way)
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Fast, efficient, and proactive
  • A strong communicator with patients and team
  • Comfortable with co-diagnosing and discussing treatment
  • Tech-savvy (digital X-rays, intraoral scanners, etc.)
  • Hungry to grow and take ownership
