Job Title: Cardiovascular Interventional Technologist
Location: Akron, Ohio
Department: Cardiovascular Technician
Contract Duration: March 23, 2026 – June 13, 2026
Shift: 4 x 10-hour days | 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
On-Call Requirement: Required (Every 6th week + 1 night per week)
Experience Required: Minimum 3 years preferred
Job Summary
Under physician supervision, the Cardiovascular Interventional Technologist operates fluoroscopic imaging equipment during cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures. This role provides scrub assistance to the cardiologist during diagnostic and interventional cases, ensures high-quality patient care, and monitors patient condition throughout procedures to support optimal clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate fluoroscopic imaging equipment in Cath Lab and/or EP settings
- Scrub and assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
- Monitor hemodynamics and document procedural events in the hemodynamic system
- Prepare and manage sterile fields using aseptic technique
- Assist with catheters, guide wires, and interventional equipment
- Interpret EKG rhythms and monitor patient responses during procedures
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards
- Lift and position patients as needed
- Maintain accurate patient records within electronic systems
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and Cath Lab staff
Education Requirements
- Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology
Certifications & Licensure
- ARRT (R) – Required
- Licensed by the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) in accordance with Ohio Revised Code 3701:72.02
- BLS – Required
- ACLS – Required (or must obtain within one year of orientation)
- CVI, RCIS, or RCES – Preferred
Experience Requirements
- Minimum one (1) year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist in Diagnostic Imaging, Special Procedures, Cath Lab, or EP Lab preferred
- Experience assisting in invasive cardiovascular procedures preferred
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology
- Proficiency in pressure monitoring systems and hemodynamic documentation
- Skilled in operation of Cath Lab equipment and interventional devices
- Understanding of radiation safety practices
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and exercise professional judgment
- Strong computer and documentation skills
