Job Title: HR & Payroll Administrator

Location: Portsmouth, Virginia

Position Overview

FirstFour Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable HR & Payroll Administrator to assist our client in supporting daily human resources operations and manage payroll processing. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate payroll administration, maintaining employee records, assisting with HR compliance, and supporting the overall employee lifecycle from onboarding through offboarding. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, trustworthy with confidential information, and comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Administration

• Process weekly or bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees
• Review timesheets for accuracy, corrections, and approvals
• Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Coordinate with accounting regarding payroll reporting and deductions
• Manage employee changes including pay adjustments, tax updates, and direct deposit information
• Assist with year-end payroll reporting including W-2 preparation

Human Resources Support

• Coordinate onboarding for new hires including paperwork, background checks, and orientation
• Maintain employee personnel files and HR documentation
• Assist with benefits administration, enrollments, and employee questions
• Track PTO, attendance, and leave requests
• Support employee relations matters and maintain confidentiality
• Assist with policy communication and HR compliance initiatives

Administrative & Compliance Responsibilities

• Ensure HR practices align with company policies and labor regulations
• Maintain accurate HR and payroll records in internal systems
• Assist leadership with HR reporting and workforce data
• Support recruiting coordination, interview scheduling, and candidate communication
• Help implement HR processes that improve efficiency and employee experience

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in HR, payroll, or HR/payroll administration
• Experience processing payroll for hourly employees preferred
• Knowledge of payroll regulations, taxes, and compliance requirements
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with data
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Experience with HRIS or payroll software preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments
• Familiarity with multi-state payroll or workforce compliance
• HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus

The Choice is managing an immediate, exciting executive assistant opportunity for a best selling author and thought leader. The author focuses on psychology, happiness, spirituality, and purpose. Personal interest in these areas would be a great fit.

This position will directly support high volume travel coordination and scheduling for the author who travels frequently to speaking events, public appearances, meetings, and teaching engagements.

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of demonstrated executive support experience, in roles requiring detailed travel coordination (flights, hotels, transportation/car service, etc) Previous Capitol Hill experience could be a good fit.
• Bachelor's degree

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide extensive end-to-end calendar and scheduling management
• Manage complex domestic and international travel logistics; Anticipate needs, risks, and conflicts before they arise.
• Serve as a trusted gatekeeper for time, attention, and information
• Provide travel coordination support for the CEO of author's management firm (as needed- only when the CEO is traveling with the author)
• Assist with helpful operational projects for the author's management team
• Handle sensitive information with discretion and care
• Troubleshoot last-minute changes calmly and decisively
• Build and maintain repeatable systems and checklists

Job Notes:

Schedule: Mondays-Thursdays in office with remote Friday. The office is located in Tyson's Corner

Salary: Starting at $60,000 with salary room for more years of experience.

Temporary to hire: The organization is hiring on a temporary-to-hire basis. There is definitely liklihood of a quick conversion, if it is a good fit.

Position Summary

The primary function of a delivery driver is to safely and efficiently operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with company policies along with Federal and State regulations and delivers all freight undamaged. Work as a team player to deliver, load/unload materials while providing a world class customer service experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Inspect truck/trailer for defects for safe operation. Safely load building materials onto flatbed or boom truck and unload products at commercial and residential job sites. Deliver materials to assigned area as directed by the customer while prioritizing personal safety and the safety of those around you.
• Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations.
• Must report all accidents involving driver or company equipment. Stamina to lift heavy building materials up to 100+ lbs. for load/unload. Excellent customer service skills and professional attitude.

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Must have a valid commercial drivers license (CDL).
• Minimum Class B License, Class A strongly preferred
• Must have a clear three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position while driving a commercial vehicle 40% of the time.
• Must be able to lift heavy building materials up to 80 lbs. for loading/unloading.
• Frequently moves materials weighing up to 80 lbs. while unloading flatbed. Will constantly move from unloading materials from commercial motor vehicle onto job site. Will constantly operate commercial motor vehicle and/or boom vehicle. Will constantly position self to unload materials from flatbed or boom.
• Must be able to judge distance while delivering materials and/or operating boom.
• Must be able to communicate with management and coworkers and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
• Constantly working in outside environment while making deliveries.

As a Shuttle Driver, you will play a key role in providing safe and efficient transportation services for guests and customers of our establishment.
