The Shipboard Effectors Department is currently searching for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer II to work on a multi-discipline team to support the production of Shipboard Effectors products and subsystems located in Huntsville, AL.
This is an onsite role with regular support required in a production missile integration facility.
This position requires strong communication skills to collaborate across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality. Experience with hardware integration and test, supplier first article inspections, production work instructions and failure investigation principals are strongly desired.
Candidate will work closely with Integrated Product Team Leads/Program Managers to ensure that engineering requirements are defined, risks are managed, and schedules/budgets are met. Candidate will ensure Technical Data Packages are maintained and updated as necessary. Decisions must be data driven in nature and require preparing technical justification analysis reports as well as presenting to a variety of Engineering Review Boards.
What You Will Do
- Contribute to finding solutions to a wide range of technical problems related to the design, manufacture, integration, and production sustainment of various mechanical subsystems, including support in the engineering lab and the factory floor both at Raytheon and at suppliers
- Support first article inspections, work instruction reviews, material dispositions, and root cause investigations for production issues. Decisions are data driven and require preparing technical justification analysis reports and presenting to a variety of Engineering Review Boards
- Perform mechanical design, development, and documentation of components, subassemblies, and end items for defense system equipment in accordance with system requirements
- Interface with other engineering disciplines, non-technical disciplines, and suppliers to develop design solutions and resolve technical issues
- Regular onsite support at Missile Integration Facility
- Periodic travel to suppliers or other program sites will be required (10-15%)
Qualifications You Must Have
- Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar Engineering discipline
- This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)
- Experience with 3D CAD tools (modeling and drawing)
- Experience with interpreting assembly and/or component drawings
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ANSI Y14.5
- Proficient in Creo (modeling and drawing) and Windchill (PDM)
- Mechanical aptitude to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of

- Float Pool position covering multiple Med/Surg units within a 492-bed Level II Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center with a Level III NICU
- A home unit will be assigned on the first day of orientation; floating is required to like units (e.g., MS-to-MS, MS-to-ICU tasks, MS-to-ER holds)
- Units covered include: 6 North Trauma Surgical (23 beds), 5 South Neuroscience (33 beds), 5 North Med/Surg Oncology (39 beds), 4 South Clinical Decision Unit (18 beds), 3 South Orthopedics (20 beds), and 3 North MS/Ortho/Urology (23 beds)
- Patient populations vary by unit and include general surgery, vascular, neurological (CVA, TBI, seizure, craniotomy), oncology/palliative care, COPD/CHF/sepsis/end-of-life, orthopedic/spine, and urology/ENT
- Patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:6 depending on unit and staffing mix
- Telemetry is monitored by Telemetry Techs; RNs are required to interpret and confirm strip readings every 4 hours
- EMR: Cerner (experience preferred)
- Equipment includes Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors
- Shifts available: 7a–7p and 7p–7a (12-hour shifts)
- Weekend rotation: every other weekend or 4 weekend days per month
- No on-call requirements
- Scheduling is managed on a 4-week cycle using Smart Square; self-scheduling is not available
Requirements
- Active AL RN license or compact RN license required (can be pending at time of consideration, but an ETA must be provided)
- Current certifications required: BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 18 months of Med/Surg and/or ICU experience required
- Cerner EMR experience required for candidates with strictly ICU backgrounds; Epic or Cerner experience accepted for Med/Surg backgrounds
- Unit-specific skills required vary and may include: wound care, chest tubes, NGT, IV starts, central line blood draws, trach care, PEG tubes, colostomy/ostomy care, PCA pumps, wound vacs, foley care, and medication administration
- Chemo administration certification highly preferred for candidates assigned to the 5 North Med/Surg Oncology unit
- Telemetry strip interpretation experience is a plus and should be detailed if applicable
- At least 1 year of trauma/surgical experience required for the 6 North Trauma Surgical unit
- SSN, DOB (day and month), a copy of certifications, and one reference from a charge nurse or above from the past 12 months are required for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 6 months (from last shift worked) before being eligible to return as a traveler
- Return travelers who have been away from this facility for 1 or more years will complete 24 hours of classroom orientation plus 24 hours of on-unit orientation
- Unit support includes CNAs (1:6 ratio for VS, ADLs, and glucose checks), charge nurses, HUC/receptionist, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, hospitalist, and telemetry monitoring techs
- Holiday coverage is required for one major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy; specific holiday assignments are not guaranteed in advance

Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift PCU - Cardiac position in Birmingham, AL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of telemetry and cardiac experience.
Details
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) on the 3 West floor of a hospital in Birmingham, AL
- Cardiac telemetry patient population including post-CABG, post-cath, chest pain, and CHF patients
- Patient ratio of 4–5:1 on a 41-bed unit
- Required skills include telemetry monitoring and management of cardiac drips
- Equipment used includes Alaris pumps and Omnicell
- EMR: Epic (experience required)
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (19:00–07:00)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Occasional floating to like units required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active AL or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required (American Red Cross certifications are not accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/cardiac telemetry nursing experience
- Experience with cardiac drips required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required at time of consideration — only AHA is accepted
- Skills checklist for the PCU specialty area required
Additional Information
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Provide care for cardiac telemetry patients, including those recovering from CABG, cardiac catheterization, and managing CHF and chest pain presentations
- Navy scrubs required; no fleece attire permitted and facility fingernail policy must be followed

Location: Birmingham, AL. Area
We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to oversee commercial, institutional, and healthcare construction projects in the Birmingham, AL area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in field supervision, safety compliance, and electrical systems, with the ability to lead crews while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise on-site electrical construction activities to ensure project timelines and safety standards are met
- Complete and submit daily reports and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) documentation
- Collaborate with the Safety Officer to ensure job site safety compliance
- Attend and participate in on-site scheduling and coordination meetings
- Manage crew assignments and productivity
- Depending on project size, may be required to perform hands-on electrical work

Qualifications:

As an DevOps Engineer, you will
Develop scripts, workflows, and playbooks for storage provisioning, automation, and backup integration.
Design, build, maintain and own SDP‑compliant CI/CD pipelines, ensuring they incorporate security checks, automated patching, and governance requirements.
Develop containers with Podman and orchestrate deployments on Kubernetes (or similar platforms).
Create and maintain IaC using Ansible (or comparable tools) to provision and configure cloud resources, containers, and networking components.
Write automation scripts and playbooks in Python, Go, Bash, or other languages for building images, running SAST scans, and automating repetitive tasks.
Develop and evolve build, deployment, and release processes, including versioning, artifact storage, and promotion across environments.
Basic Qualifications
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval as determined by the company to meet its business need
Hold or have the ability to obtain Security + CE (or other DoD 8570/8140 certification)
Level 3 (T3): 5 Years with Bachelors in Science from an accredited university; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD or
4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
