We provide high acuity care to critically ill post-operative traumas, stroke patients, and medical overflow. Common therapies seen on 6D are lumbar drain management, external ventricular drain management, antidysrhythmic/calcium channel blocking drips, low dose vasopressors, Bipap and high flow oxygen systems, insulin drips, and precedex. 6D works closely with Cardiovascular PCU and there are opportunities to cross train between departments. We are part of the Critical Care Cluster, which includes all ICUs and PCUs.
6D offers you the chance to deliver compassionate care in a setting that is busy, team oriented, and fulfilling. Learning opportunities are endless and team members are dedicated to mentoring. Career path programs are available to transition into ICU units with an 18-month track.
