These include, but are not limited to, bariatric, orthopedic, ortho-trauma, neuro-spine, mastectomy, urological, gynecological, and gastrointestinal surgeries.

Deliver direct, hands-on care to patients with complex surgical needs.
Develop and implement individualized care plans focused on promoting recovery and restoring patients to their pre-surgical level of wellness.
Provide exceptional care and support for patients requiring overnight or extended post-operative stays.

Position Purpose:
At Naugatuck Valley Surgical Center, part of Saint Mary's Hospital, the Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room (OR) delivers safe, high-quality care to surgical patients.
What You Will Do
Provide intraoperative care by performing circulating and/or scrub duties, including patient positioning, site prep, instrumentation, and sterile technique.
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient, coordinated care throughout procedures.
Required:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing is required
Valid RN license in Connecticut
Ideal candidates will have 1 or more years of intraoperative nursing experience, including circulating and scrub experience
Preferred:
Current BLS/CPR (AHA or Red Cross)
Familiarity with AORN standards
Important Consideration
This role is not designed for new graduates or those seeking training through the Periop 101 program. Candidates must be able to function independently in the OR.
