About the School of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Georgia Tech currently has over 625 undergraduate students, nearly 400 graduate students, and 55 tenure-track faculty members. Women comprise 50% of the undergraduate population, and more than 29% of the undergraduate student population identifies as a member of under-represented minority groups. Thirteen faculty members are women, and eight faculty members identify as a member of under-represented minority groups. Twenty-six faculty members hold endowed chairs or professorships with 30% of them being women faculty. The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering () at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA invites applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions in all areas of Civil Engineering. Applicants will be considered at all ranks, with a preference for the Assistant Professor rank.

CEE faculty are expected to lead independent research at the cutting edge of their field and build a strong, extramurally funded research program and national/international recognition. In addition, they are expected to teach both undergraduate and graduate level courses, mentor a diverse student body, and conduct service to the school, institute, and profession.

An earned doctorate is required by the start of the appointment.

Successful candidates will have displayed an exemplary track record of research accomplishments, expertise or demonstrated interest in teaching and mentoring a diverse student body, and a degree of service engagement appropriate to their career stage.

Position requires the ability to pass a drug/alcohol pre-screening; may require working competently with dangerous materials and in a dangerous environment, such as around or on rotating machinery, live electrical circuits, hazardous materials, high-pressure liquids and gas, and bot surfaces. In addition, it may require lifting heavy objects of up to 75 pounds, and working in confined spaces, noisy environments, and elevated locations (such as climbing extension ladder and other types of ladders; or using scaffolding) either inside or outside of a building. During adverse weather, activities may require extensive after hours work or callback. This job may require wearing a full-face respirator in accordance with Georgia Tech campus policies and procedures. This job will require some evening hours and hours during peak times, as well as being a part of an on-duty rotation.

Provide engineering services in support of systems and equipment associated with research efforts within an academic or research unit or laboratory. The Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School of Public Policy () has 63 faculty members and we instruct students in undergraduate, masters, and Ph.D. programs. Postdoctoral Fellow appointments are full time and limited term (recommended to be 1-3 years, with a maximum of 5 years). A Postdoctoral Fellow's responsibilities are substantially research and/or scholarship, but may combine these responsibilities with formal instructional responsibilities (typically no more than 50% effort). Postdoctoral Fellows must have completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate, typically within the past 5 years, and must be supervised/mentored by a faculty member. The Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School of Public Policy at Georgia Tech invites applications for a one-year Postdoctoral Research Fellowship, starting no later than January 1, 2026. This postdoctoral fellowship focuses on examining the relationship between universities and industries in the evolving innovation ecosystem.

For this position, we are particularly interested in qualified applicants with interdisciplinary research expertise related to science studies and science policy, expertise in quantitative research methods, and knowledge of the innovation landscape.

In addition to full faculty benefits, including health insurance and retirement, research fellows receive both research support and other services, including job market support for both academic and non-academic positions in conjunction with other research fellows in the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, of which the School of Public Policy is a unit.

A Ph.D. in a relevant field, with specialization in scientometrics, science policy, or other science studies domains.

PhD must be conferred before the start of the appointment, and not more than five years before the start of the appointment.

The Kwong lab in the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for a non tenure-track research faculty position in Laboratory for Synthetic Immunity.

The Laboratory for Synthetic Immunity (LSI) is an interdisciplinary research group in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech & Emory School of Medicine. Founded in 2014 by Director Dr. Gabe Kwong, the mission of LSI is to pioneer the next wave of immunotherapies and diagnostics to intercept diseases at an early stage and develop treatments that drive deep responses to meaningfully improve patient outcomes.

We are currently seeking exceptional individuals to join our research group as a Research Scientist. The successful candidate will be a motivated and creative individual that will pioneer new categories of immune biosensors that leverage design principles from synthetic biology and cell engineering for early cancer detection. They will take a lead role in experimental design, execution of experiments, and interpretation of results to achieve the major objectives of the project.

Research Scientist I

• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field
  

Research Scientist II

• A Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field, and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree, or
• A Master's degree in chemical engineering or related field, and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree, or
• A Doctoral degree.

• Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Immunology, or related fields with deep expertise in cancer immunology and/or biosensors.
• Expertise in the design and testing of sense-and-respond biocircuits for cancer therapy or diagnostics.
• Proficiency in cell and molecular biology techniques including sterile technique, cell culture, chromatography, electrophoresis, and flow cytometry.
• Proficiency in animal studies including live animal imaging, animal handling and drug administration, necropsy and cell isolation.
• Skilled in molecular cloning, lentivirus production, T cell transduction, protein production and purification.
• Experience with T cell isolation, tumor inoculation; isolation, and dissociation of mouse tumor xenografts.
• Experience with qPCR, next-generation sequencing (NGS) library preparation, NGS data analysis is plus.
• Proficiency with statistical software like SPSS and/or GraphPad Prism.
• Excellent organizational, communication, time-management, and collaboration skills are required.
• Demonstrated desire to mentor graduate and/or undergraduate students.
