Department Information
Georgia Tech Research Institute's program seeks students pursuing a High School diploma with an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math to join our Summer Internship Program. To be eligible for this program, students must have completed the 2024 High School Summer Internship Program Pre-Application prior to January 22, 2024. interns will assist GTRI's researchers with a variety of Research, Fabrication, Analysis, Modeling, Design, Software Development, Hardware Development and Research Support tasks and work in different labs across campus. Students should be interested in learning about research, analysis, fabrication, design, development, and/or assembly of RF, Analog, and Digital systems as defined by unit management.
Job Summary
Under direct supervision, a Research Intern will contribute to projects and/or programs specific to the hiring department. A Research Intern may work across diverse fields related to their field of study or other areas of interest. This role may work in a laboratory setting, closed laboratory, field sites or office. A Research Intern may contribute to projects and/or programs, which may require safety training as a prerequisite. This role will interact consistently with unit management, staff, faculty and students.

Preferred Qualifications
Due to the nature of the work at GTRI, job duties will depend upon lab-level supervisory needs. High School students could participate in the following projects/tasks:
Software programming and development
Working with robotics
Soldering to IPC J-001 standards
Assembling and wiring custom cables to the 620 IPC standards
Assembling and wiring custom modules and chassis to IPC standards
Providing technical assistance to engineering personnel.
The ability to analyze basic AC and DC circuits.
Working with the mechanical team in assembling and fabricating chassis.
- Conducting literature reviews of domain specific technologies
- Testing and analyzing systems and networks
- Develop websites or mobile applications
- Research technology solutions
- Generate datasets
Build prototypes or conduct simulations

The School of History and Sociology (HSOC) is a uniquely interdisciplinary unit with an intellectual culture of cross-pollination between sociological and historical scholarship as well as work in science and technology studies. HSOC offers a Bachelor of Science degree in History, Technology, and Society and several joint undergraduate minors including Social Justice; Women, Science, and Technology; Health, Medicine, and Society; Science, Technology, and Society; and Sports, Society, and Technology. The School of History and Sociology () at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia, seeks a tenure-track assistant professor of history who specializes in immigration and the United States in a period after 1860. We are particularly interested in applicants whose work also includes a focus on women, gender, and/or the U.S. South although scholars of immigration and the United States whose work falls outside of those areas are still encouraged to apply. Due to existing research and teaching strengths in the School, preference will be given to applicants who study non-European immigrants and/or their descendants. The successful candidate will be expected to teach the second half of the U.S. history survey, including possibly online, as well as classes in the candidate's area of specialization that suit the needs of the School. The position will begin in August 2026.

About the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology
The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology is one of the largest producers of electrical engineers and computer engineers in the United States. Almost 2,600 students are enrolled in the School's graduate and undergraduate programs, and in the last academic year, 801 degrees were awarded. All ECE undergraduate and graduate programs are in the top five of the most recent college rankings by U.S. News & World Report.
In addition to the main campus in Atlanta, Georgia, ECE also has permanent operations at Georgia Tech-Lorraine in France and Georgia Tech-Shenzhen in China. Job Summary
The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of Heterogeneous Integration and Advanced Packaging (HI/AP). The School is interested in HI/AP topics including, but not limited to: bonding technologies for 3DHI, co-packaged photonics, 2.5D/3D HI technologies, advanced materials for HI/AP, system co-design and optimization, glass-core packaging technologies, and advanced assembly and interconnect technologies. Focus on system level demonstrations using HI/AP and circuit/system co-design are relevant.
The School seeks individuals with outstanding potential for research achievement, and a strong aptitude and interest in undergraduate and graduate teaching, as well as interest and experience in translating their research to commercial applications. Applicants should have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent. The candidate will also be associated with the Georgia Tech Packaging Research Center, which is a multidisciplinary research center with strong industry and government support devoted to heterogeneous integration and advanced packaging.

Job Summary
The Research Engineer II will support and lead semiconductor fabrication, advanced packaging, and heterogeneous integration activities within the IMS Cleanroom Facilities. This role involves hands-on process development, tool ownership, and research execution across TSV/TGV processing, electroplating, wafer thinning, planarization, CMP, and MEMS/sensor fabrication in a multi-user research environment.
The position supports collaborative research initiatives involving materials development, interconnect technologies, high-density integration, and system-level packaging solutions for next-generation electronic and sensor platforms.
Responsibilities
Support heterogeneous integration research through materials selection, interconnect process development, and multi-layer device integration.
Develop and optimize process flows for TSV/TGV fabrication, copper electroplating and RDL formation, wafer thinning (grinding), planarization and CMP, advanced packaging integration, and MEMS/sensor fabrication.
Design and execute experimental studies, analyze process data, and establish stable, documented baselines to ensure reproducibility and reliability.
Serve as technical owner for fabrication and packaging tools (e.g., DRIE/ICP systems, electroplating systems, grinding and CMP tools, and thin-film deposition systems)
Train and support academic and industry users on cleanroom processes and equipment.
Troubleshoot process and equipment issues and coordinate maintenance and continuous improvement efforts.
Collaborate with faculty, students, and industry partners on prototype development, sponsored research activities, and technical deliverables.

The successful candidate will be named Hightower Chair and Georgia Research Alliance (GRA) Eminent Scholar, an endowed position. GRA eminent scholars are expected to engage in translational and/or economic development efforts in their field. Applicants should have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Appointment is expected at the rank of full professor with tenure.
The school seeks a visionary scholar-educator and proven leader in high impact and emerging areas of importance to society, sustainability and the environment. Job Summary
We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher who will work under the guidance of Dr. Gaeun (Gwenn) Seo, Director of Graduate Career Development in the Office of the Vice Provost for Graduate and Postdoctoral Education at Georgia Institute of Technology. The postdoc will contribute to a multi-year, federally funded research initiative that examines how industry-engaged graduate funding structures shape Ph.D. student success, faculty research environments, and institutional policy. This project will examine industry-engaged flexible graduate funding models that combine traditional funding mechanisms (e.g., research assistantships, fellowships) with externally supported funding, such as internships and industry-sponsored appointments. The study will compare outcomes for Ph.D. students in these flexible funding arrangements with regard to financial security, research engagement, career decision-making, and time to degree, as well as impacts on faculty research strategies, mentoring practices, and institutional policies. Using a mixed-methods design, the project will integrate surveys, interviews, and longitudinal institutional data across STEM disciplines and stakeholder groups.
The postdoctoral researcher will play a central role in this work, with primary supervision provided by Dr. Seo and additional input from the projects PI/CoPIs. The postdoc will contribute to the design and implementation of data collection instruments, conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses, and synthesize findings to generate evidence-based insights that inform institutional decision-making. Through regular engagement with the research team, the postdoc will support the translation of empirical results into scholarly publications and actionable guidance for institutions seeking sustainable and scalable approaches to graduate education funding.
This is a two-year, renewable position contingent on performance. The postdoc will receive research and professional development mentoring and, as time permits, may pursue related projects and develop an independent line of scholarship aligned with the broader research agenda.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities -
- Design, pilot, and implement quantitative and qualitative data collection instruments (surveys, interview guides) in collaboration with the research team and an external research consultant.
- Conduct data cleaning and management and analyze quantitative and qualitative data, including longitudinal institutional datasets
- Apply statistical modeling techniques (e.g., regression, factor analysis, SEM) and qualitative coding methods.
- Contribute to manuscripts, conference presentations, and public dissemination of findings.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with faculty, administrators, and external partners.
- Support IRB coordination and ensure compliance with NSF data management and human subjects protocols.

Public Services
The Public Services department provides 24/7 support to the Georgia Tech Library community. The team is responsible for staffing the INFO Desk, chat, phone, Gadgets office, and ticket support for anyone needing Library assistance. The team is the first line of support for Library inquiries and is deeply involved in the service provisions of the library. Public Services is also responsible for Gadgets, the Georgia Tech Library's equipment lending service.
Job Summary
Responsible for library customer support (in person and electronic) which includes: providing assistance with myriad library services, providing bibliographic instruction and referrals, assistance with accessing library content and shared resources, providing user account management, and assisting with various technologies. Provides access and reference services support to GT library patrons, including fulfillment, reference, and multimedia. This position will interact on a regular basis with: faculty, students, staff, unit management, external communities, all internal and external Georgia Tech Library patrons. Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 - Proactively engaging and assisting library users in obtaining requested materials. Answers Customer Support Tickets. Provides assistance in requesting materials from offsite storage facility and shared resource providers. Direct users to library spaces, expertise, and resources. Assist users with lending technology reservations and instruct on the use of various media and audiovisual equipment.
Job Duty 2 - Use a variety of library-specific software programs to fulfill requests and update user records, switching between multiple system interfaces as necessary; systems including but not limited to: Alma, Primo, Student Information System (Banner), customer issue tracking system (Jira), and various databases and library resources.
Job Duty 3 - Participate in a variety of library projects and initiatives. Engage in learning opportunities with other Library areas to gain a broader knowledge of the services the organization provides.
Job Duty 4 - Interprets and applies library policies and procedures regarding user accounts and the circulation and access of materials both owned and shared.
Job Duty 5 - Provides access to Reserves, Reference, and Gadgets collections.
Job Duty 6 - Maintains accurate user account records while applying patron confidentiality principles.

About the School of History and Sociology at the Georgia Institute of Technology
The School of History and Sociology (HSOC) is a uniquely interdisciplinary unit with an intellectual culture of cross-pollination between sociological and historical scholarship, as well as work in science and technology studies. The School is united around a vision of scholarship and teaching that elucidates processes of local, national, and global change, past and present. This includes promoting a broader understanding of how racial, gender, and class inequalities intersect, as well as how technology, science, environment, and culture are intertwined. Technology Services Organization (TSO) at Georgia Institute of Technology is seeking to hire a Research Technologist I to Work with the TSO research team in the technical support of research activity within the College of Computing.
This is a hybrid working position.
Responsibilities
Work with the TSO research team in the technical support of research activity, including:
- Provide point of contact and customer interface regarding TSO's support of college research technology resources.
- Work with faculty, researchers and graduate students with the acquisition, research, development and implementation of research resources, and integration of advanced technologies involving work in research data center and lab environments.
- Work with Research Lab Managers in support of strategic research facilities.
- Manage technical problems, requests, and projects to assure quick resolution, best practices, and excellent customer service.
- Coordinate the provisioning of OIT and TSO services to meet faculty and student needs.
- Implement large-scale, automated approaches to operating system and configuration management and control of systems and HPC resources.
- Implement CoC technical plans, infrastructure, policies and procedures in research facilities.
- Monitor and maintain the general health and life cycle of research systems.
- Implement Institute computing and networking security policies and procedures, as well as develop written internal computing and networking policies and documentation.
- Develop and coordinate technical aspects of research grant proposals.
- Provide bid and proposal costing for strategic technologies.
- Be aware of and discuss technology trends and new products that could be used to enhance research facilities.
- Act as liaison to GT/OIT, other GT units and external research partners regarding research computing capabilities.
Required Qualifications

- Higher Education experience preferred, experience managing technology in a highly distributed, multi-vendor environment supporting research.
- Be able to conceptualize immediate and future research technologies.
- Linux systems administration experience, preferably in a heterogeneous environment that includes Linux/UNIX, Mac OS X, and Windows client systems accessing physical and virtual Linux servers.
- Knowledge of Linux server installation and administration, system monitoring, hardware maintenance and troubleshooting, configuration and patch management, virtualization, containerization, private cloud, storage solutions, IP networking concepts, information security, identity and access management, and backup & recovery.
- Knowledge of a UNIX scripting language (e.g. python, bash, etc.).
- Exemplary customer service skills and the agility to handle unusual technical requests.
- Possess excellent communications skills, the ability to make technical presentations, the ability to create technical documentation, a strong service orientation, and the ability to work well with other professionals in providing technical solutions in an advanced computing environment.
