Job Summary and QualificationsAs a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), you will be responsible for performing patient assessments, developing a plan of care, implementing and evaluating care. As the Registered Nurse in the CVICU, you will be responsible for directing, monitoring and evaluating the care delegated to non-licensed personnel on the team.

Job Summary and QualificationsThe Cardiovascular Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Las Palmas/Del Sol Medical Center and the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. The Cardiovascular Nurse will supervise and provide feedback to the Director regarding patient care and is a clinical role model. In collaboration with the patient, the patient’s family, and other members of the health care team, the clinical RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and coordinates treatment plans. The Cardiovascular Nurse will be cross-trained to assist in the Hybrid OR, EP Lab, Heart Recovery, Non-invasive procedures to include EKG and stress testing. On-Call is required. Core Competencies will be assessed in accordance to the units’ specific patient population served.
What qualifications you will need:REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS
- Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Advance Cardiac Life support within 6 months of hire
- RN licensure in State of Texas or Compact State

- Minimum of Diploma in Nursing required.

Job Summary and QualificationsAs a registered nurse you will provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to ill and injured patients. Job Summary and QualificationsAs a registered nurse you will provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to ill and injured patients. Duties include documenting observations, assessments, and changes in patient's condition; collaborating with health team members to facilitate positive patient care outcomes; providing a full range of nursing care to patients with a variety of physical and/or behavior problems; and accountable for meeting and maintaining the qualification standards
What you will do in this role:
- Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record. - Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication. Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
What qualifications you will need:
REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS
- RN licensed in state of Texas/Compact state
- BCLS
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Completion of RN/LVN program leading to licensure
