The Role:

The primary responsibility of the Senior Preconstruction Manager is to intake and steer construction opportunities through the RFP stage of estimating and preconstruction, all the way through a successful buyout and purchasing phase, before turning the project over to Operations. The Senior Preconstruction Manager will coordinate heavily with Corporate Operational leadership and resources, as well as the Estimating team for the purpose of submitting comprehensive proposals during the project pursuit and pre-construction phases. The successful candidate will be able to identify, coordinate, and communicate proposal development between all internal and external stakeholders.


Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all project pursuit and pre-construction deliverables from commencement of project pursuit with Corporate, Operational leadership and Estimating
  • Review project documentation for quality, content, and constructability
  • Identify all required deliverables for the project pursuit / pre-construction effort, and make assignments to the appropriate internal/external stakeholder
  • Manage the project pursuit / pre-construction effort timeline, setting deadlines as required to ensure an on time and quality deliverable to the client
  • Coordinate with corporate marketing to develop proposal documents as required
  • Actively manage the client during the project pursuit / pre-construction effort and maintain a strong relationship throughout to help ensure success
  • Assure potential risk factors have been evaluated and reviewed with management
  • Coordinate constructability resolutions and request pricing of alternative design concepts
  • Ensure preliminary construction schedules are developed in accordance with estimates
  • Review cost models during the pre-construction and bidding period
  • Assist with contract documents
  • Consult with Operation leadership, scheduling, estimating, legal, cost control, and procurement activities
  • Monitor design progress for compliance with defined cost, schedule, and quality criteria for the purpose of revising proposals and coordinating resolution of constructability issues during design


Qualifications:

  • Degree in Construction, Engineering, or related field desired
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Construction
  • Preferred multidisciplinary experience in several (but not all) of the following areas: Preconstruction, Estimating, and Operations
  • Estimating and scheduling experience desired
  • Experience using computer-based estimating systems desired
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required

As a Structured Investments Consultant, you will work closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders—including bank issuers, third-party distributors, the internal trading desk, and financial advisors on a comprehensive range of offerings.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist financial advisors in the implementation of structured notes and market-linked CDs as part of broader client portfolios.

  • Assist with product training and insights to advisors, focusing on live business cases and real-time market conditions.

  • Enhance and create educational resources, ensuring advisors are equipped with up-to-date knowledge on structured notes and market-linked CDs.

  • Collaborate with trading and operations teams to ensure smooth and efficient client onboarding experience.

  • Leverage technology to drive process efficiencies and improve team workflows.

  • Apply your understanding of portfolio management to recognize how structured investments fit into broader financial plans, supporting client goals.

The Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Series 7 at time of application or within 90 days of start date

  • 2+ years of experience with investment solutions in the insurance/financial services industry and/or within financial institutions.

  • Experience with more complex investments and solutions such as Structured Products / Investments.

The Opportunity

The Investment Manager - Provisions will partner closely with senior leadership to manage day-to-day operations across our investment tax portfolio, spanning provision, compliance, and deferred tax processes for life insurance investment assets including securities, bonds, partnerships, derivatives, and real estate. The Investment Tax Manager will have the opportunity to develop leadership capabilities and drive meaningful process improvements. The Team

As an Investment Tax Manager - Provisions, you will be a member of the Investment Tax team within the Corporate Tax Department, part of our Controllers Organization. The Corporate Tax Department is comprised of high-performing, collaborative, and agile tax professionals who are motivated by challenging work that delivers sustained value and a culture of accountability.

The Impact

  • Drive day-to-day execution of tax provision (ASC 740), compliance, and deferred tax reconciliation processes across all investment asset classes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of deliverables
  • Provide technical tax guidance to team members on investment taxation matters, researching and resolving moderately complex technical issues independently
  • Identify and resolve data integrity issues within investment accounting systems; develop and execute proactive error detection processes to improve accuracy of tax results
  • Coordinate workflow and priorities across technical tax staff covering fixed income, partnerships, derivatives, and real estate portfolios
  • Support ad hoc investment transaction analysis and tax planning, coordinating with tax planning, legal, investment management, and external partners
  • Partner with external auditors during tax provision and compliance reviews, addressing technical inquiries and supporting documentation requests
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and lead initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce risk, and enhance controls
  • Mentor and develop tax professionals, providing coaching and fostering professional growth across the team
  • Represent the investment tax function in cross-functional meetings and build strong relationships across finance, investments, and operations

The Minimum Qualifications

  • CPA certification
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting/Finance or related field
  • 7+ years of tax experience from public accounting or financial services
  • 5+ years of Income tax (ASC740) provision experience

The Ideal Qualifications

  • 10+ years of tax experience with demonstrated career progression
  • Big 4 tax advisory background with exposure to complex technical projects
  • Insurance or asset management industry experience; familiarity with life insurance company taxation
  • Working knowledge of investment taxation across multiple asset classes (fixed income, partnerships, derivatives, real estate)
  • Strong understanding of corporate tax provision (ASC740) and tax compliance processes
  • Hands-on experience with tax technology platforms, ERP systems, or system implementation projects
  • Prior involvement in large-scale transformation initiatives or process improvement programs
  • Experience managing, mentoring, or leading tax professionals (formal or informal)
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to identify data issues and develop solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines
  • Project management experience or certification
  • Track record of building effective stakeholder relationships across matrixed organizations
