Job Title: Second Shift Safety Associate

Job Summary

3Z Brands is seeking a dependable and safety-focused 2nd Shift Safety Associate to support and promote workplace safety within our fast-paced mattress manufacturing facility. This role plays an important part in maintaining a safe work environment by assisting with inspections, reinforcing safety policies, supporting training efforts, and helping ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine safety walkthroughs on the manufacturing floor during 2nd shift and report hazards or unsafe conditions to leadership.
• Assist in correcting minor safety issues and follow up to ensure identified hazards are addressed in a timely manner.
• Support new hire safety orientations and assist with ongoing safety training initiatives.
• Reinforce safe work practices including proper PPE usage, machine guarding awareness, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures, and safe material handling.
• Assist with incident and near-miss reporting by gathering information and documenting details accurately.
• Maintain safety documentation including training logs, inspection checklists, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Help monitor and restock Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) inventory as needed.
• Serve as a visible safety presence on the production floor and encourage team members to follow established safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with supervisors and maintenance team members to ensure safety procedures are followed during equipment operation and repairs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment preferred.
• OSHA 10-Hour Certification (General Industry) preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not already completed.
• Basic understanding of workplace safety practices and regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential hazards.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with team members across departments.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and work in a production environment.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
• Bilingual Spanish/English Speaking Required

• Use soldering irons to attach electronic components with SMT and Thru hole technologies.
  
• Interpreting job routers, written instructions, wiring diagrams and schematic drawings for assembly of electronics
  
• Performing a variety of inspections to ensure assemblies meet/exceed IPC standards
  
• Performing pass downs with outgoing/incoming shifts
  
• Modifying, soldering, reworking, repairing assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications, drawings, and work instructions

• Will require an onsite soldering assessment to J-STD001 standards during the interview
  
• Must have meticulous hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  
• Must be able to work 2nd Shift hours, 2:30pm to 12:00am
  
• Typically requires 5+ years of electronics assembly and inspection experience with in-process soldering (both through hole and surface mount)
  
• Must be able to work for extended hours utilizing a microscope to perform inspection and solder touch-ups
  
• Hand soldering experience is required
  
• Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic discharge) procedures

• Development and adherence to quality control and manufacturing procedures as required to maintain ISO 9001 and AS9100 conformance.
  
• Maintain and report product conformance to engineering and customer specifications through inspection of raw material, work in process and finished goods inventories.
  
• Review the production process for conformance to quality standards and report quality statistics.
  
• Establish and present regular training for inspection and manufacturing employees on quality standards and issues.
  
• Develop programs to encourage each employee to perform quality control as a part of their operation.
  
• Maintain test equipment, including a calibration schedule and any documentation required by AS9100
  
• Perform internal hand tool calibrations
  
• Inspecting and testing raw material, work in process and finished goods parts as needed.
  
• Evaluate RMAs, report findings, and provide corrective actions/process improvements.
  
• Coordinate with purchasing to initiate and process DMRs.

• 5s own the process, show daily progress, monthly audits, work environment is standardized.
