Position Summary:
The Senior Food Scientist will lead technical projects that support Karlsburger Foods' strategic business goals, including new product development, product optimization, cost savings, quality improvement, and troubleshooting. This role will focus on a range of product forms including dry powders, broths concentrate, stocks concentrate, sauces, and gravies. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with deep experience in savory product development and commercialization, especially in powdered and concentrated formats.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Lead new product development projects with emphasis on dry powders, soup/broth bases, and seasoning blends.
- Optimize existing powdered, liquid and paste products for quality, shelf-life, and cost.
- Execute plant trials, product validations, and troubleshooting in both dry and wet processing environments.
- Maintain accurate and detailed technical documentation, including formulations, batching instructions, and product specifications.
- Participate in sensory panels and lead evaluations for taste, appearance, and texture.
- Serve as a technical resource for powder blending, ingredient functionality, and processing parameters to operations and sales.
- Partner with supply chain, operations, and procurement to support scale-up and identify alternative ingredients.
- Apply food science principles to support sensory performance and commercializability.

The typical pay range for this role is:

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. How You Will Fulfill Your Potential
Responsibilities
- Perform quality CT exams with using the appropriate technical skills and according to the established procedure and protocols
- Participate in all aspects of care of the CT patient to include pre and post care by support the patient care area

- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Medical/Clinical Laboratory Technology, OR BS in one of the biological, chemical , or physical sciences.; AND/OR meets all of the educational and experience requirements for a Clinical Laboratory Technologist according to Part 58 of 10NYCRR Subpart 58-1 Clinical Laboratories of the NYSDOH code.
- Licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist by the New York State Education Department is required.

Salary Range
The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $30.27 to $49.77 per hour. Responsibilities
- Interprets, reviews and evaluates medication orders for optimal dose, dosage form, frequency, concentration, duration, drug-drug interactions, drug-disease state interaction, drug allergy interaction, and potential cross allergenicity, taking into account the patient's special or age related needs, to ensure optimal drug therapy, high quality patient care and timely dispensing of accurate and appropriate medications.
- Dispenses medications by reviewing patient specific bulk medications and pyxis fills and refills for accuracy of the right medication, dose, dose form, strength, size, quantity to ensure accurate, timely and safe pharmaceutical care.
- Participates in process improvement teams within the department and organization to build strong relationships with staff members, demonstrates GFH core values and enhances financial viability.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy from a pharmacy program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)
- Hospital Pharmacy experience preferred.
Licenses/Certificates/Registrations
- Current, active license to practice pharmacy New York State; or eligible to reciprocate licensure from another state
- Pharmacy Registration in New York State
Skills/Abilities:
- The pharmacist needed to following:
- Communication and language skills to read analyze and interpret medication orders and information, the ability to respond appropriately to emergent situation, staff, physicians, and patient inquiries or complaints and the ability to effectively communicate important information to
- management peers and other health professionals.
- Ability to perform complex Pharmaceutical calculations and an understanding of statistical concepts such as frequency, distribution, standard deviation and variances.
- The pharmacist needs the ability to solve clinical problems related to pharmaceutical care and drug therapy.
- Knowledge of current pharmacy principles and practices
- Knowledge of computer order entry
- Knowledge of federal and state laws governing pharmacy practices
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards
- Ability to work independently within established policies and procedures
- Ability to accomplish established program goals and objectives
- Ability to exercise judgment, tact, and diplomacy
