The Inpatient Surgery Department at Saint Mary’s Hospital is a 23-bed unit specializing in the pre- and post-operative care of patients undergoing a wide range of surgical procedures. Assisting with various levels of care and treatment, while supporting and encouraging rehabilitation. In addition to these specialties, nurses on this unit care for patients with a wide range of medical and surgical needs, delivering high-quality, compassionate care in a collaborative and supportive environment.
This unit also utilizes a Virtual Nurse, the Together Team Model, as part of our care team. The Virtual RN brings a minimum of 7 years of experience and provides essential support to bedside staff, including assistance with admissions, discharges, patient education, purposeful rounding, and enhancing team communication.
What You Will Do:
Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult patients with diverse medical and surgical needs.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Monitor patient progress, administer medications, and perform treatments in accordance with hospital protocols.
Educate patients and families on post-operative care, rehabilitation, and recovery processes.
