Your contribution
The responsibilities of the intern encompasses the protection of assets for Wakefern Food Corp. and any affiliation such as a 3rd party warehouse, vendors, contractors and all associates conducting business for or with the company. This includes but is not limited to accidents and injuries, violence in the workplace issues, fire protection, crisis management, loss of product through theft, grazing or damage from any means.
What you will do
- Monitors the guard force to ensure the enforcement of divisional and corporate policies and procedures are maintained.
- Responds to all alarm activations and determines the cause and proper approach to the re-setting of the alarm.
- Oversees the daily operation of the CCTV operator and ensures all data entry and reports are kept in accordance with divisional policy.
- Responsible for the issuing of all trailer seals for store deliveries, back-hauls and shuttles from the various warehouse facilities, all gate and tractor trailer release passes, as well as time stamps and receiving stickers.
- Maintains that all Asset Protection emergency equipment is kept in a state of preparedness to meet any given situation.
- Coordinates visitor protocol all Wakefern Divisions and facilities.
- Has the responsibility to familiarize themselves with the shipping and receiving procedures with all product divisions, also completing receiving and seal audits as needed.
- Responsible for Access Control and the issuing of the access cards and maintaining the integrity of the access control platform.
- Oversees the work performance of Asset Protection vendors, i.e., alarm, guard and camera companies, and maintains proper records.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to demonstrate a high level of customer service, confidentiality and have the ability to interface with all levels of Wakefern / ShopRite Associates.

Compensation and Benefits:
First year Wakefern Interns will be paid at $17.00 per hour. Returning Wakefern Interns will be paid at $18.00 per hour. Master Students and Returning Wakefern Supply Chain/Logistic Interns will be paid at $19.00 per hour. About You
As more real estate opportunities present themselves due to the ever-changing market in the Mid-Atlantic area, Wakefern, in conjunction with our Members, is investing in many new stores and remodel projects. Additionally, as Wakefern grows to meet these needs, our facilities also need to be expanded and re-configured to accommodate this growth.
This internship position is a great opportunity for a student majoring in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or other related fields to gain hands-on experience working with Wakefern’s Engineering Division. In this position, the intern will assist the Engineering team in project management in our Retail Engineering Design Department.
Responsibilities:
Facilities Engineering / Design and Construction
- Assist Engineering in preparation of plans using AutoCAD
- Assist Engineering Personnel in surveys of existing sites and stores to verify existing conditions
- Assist in drafting of remodels or new sites, including parking lots and stores
- Coordinate scanning of existing paper drawings into electronic files
- Visit new sites to determine best layout for building, parking and truck docks as well as truck paths through the site.
Requirements:

Summary
As a member of Wakefern Tech’s HR/Legal Systems team, this role will support and enhance Wakefern's HCM platform, including configuration, troubleshooting, and developing SQL-based reporting. This role involves working closely with various areas across the enterprise (including corporate, warehouse, retail, and member locations) to understand their needs and architect the appropriate HCM related solutions.
Essential Functions
- Participate in the project development lifecycle for HCM related systems including, but not limited to:
- System design, configuration, and integration
- System testing and validation
- System implementation
- Provide ongoing system support including, but not limited to:
- Ongoing work related to system upgrades, enhancements, production fixes, etc., including the testing and rollout of new features and functionality
- Provide day-to-day HCM related system support including application configuration changes, incident troubleshooting and resolution, and ongoing system maintenance activities
- Develop and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, audits, and analysis
- Build and maintain custom reporting and dashboards using SQL and/or other appropriate tools
- Build and maintain integrations with both external vendors/systems and internal systems
- Support data integrity, auditing, and audit reconciliation efforts
- Partner with stakeholder teams around the enterprise to identify opportunities for platform enhancement/improvement and work with the project team to translate these requirements into system solutions
- On call support after hours and on weekends as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, HR Technology, or related field preferred
- 5+ years supporting an enterprise HCM system
- Proficiency with modern cloud-based HCM platforms such as Dayforce, Workday, UKG, Oracle Fusion, or comparable system
- Strong SQL skills for queries, troubleshooting, and reporting
- Experience developing custom HCM reports

Summary
This role supports both Oracle E‑Business Suite (EBS) development and SAP operational support. The Oracle portion focuses on development, enhancements, and troubleshooting within the Financials suite, while the SAP portion centers on supporting SAP processes—especially SAP BDC, data validation, and financial workflows.
Additionally, this role contributes to cross‑platform AI initiatives and financial analytics, helping the organization leverage data insights, automation opportunities, and process optimization across ERP systems.
Essential Functions
Oracle EBS Development:
- Develop, support, and enhance Oracle E‑Business Suite Financials modules (GL, AP, AR, Purchasing, iProcurement, Fixed Assets).
- Troubleshoot technical and data-related issues using PL/SQL and SQL tools.
- Write functional and technical specifications based on business requirements.
- Develop reports, forms, workflows, and integrations using Oracle tools (Reports, Forms, APEX, BI Publisher, ADF).
- Collaborate with finance and business teams to analyze requirements, design solutions, and support end users.
- Prioritize tasks, manage project milestones, and drive development activities to completion.
SAP Support & Enhancements
- Provide day-to-day SAP support with emphasis on SAP BDC .
- Build, test, and maintain SAP BDC scripts to support batch-input processes.
- Troubleshoot SAP issues, perform root-cause analysis, and assist with configuration or master data validation.
- Support functional teams across finance-related SAP processes and data flows.

About You
Your contribution
As a member of the Retail Operations team, this associate will be responsible for consulting with our ShopRite and Alternate Banner Members, store management and retail staff with regard to the operations and merchandising of our Produce Departments. The Produce Merchandiser will consult with our Members, retail staff and subsidiaries on all innovative/state of the art merchandising strategies and technological advances to ensure long-term growth and profitability. A successful merchandiser analyzes market trends, understands the importance of seasonality and creativity in the craft. This associate will counsel our stores regarding departmental sales, gross profit, labor, shrink, product quality, training and customer service. This is accomplished through the establishment of Member/Store specific business plans which enhance market share, build sales, and ensure profitability in their respective trade areas. This merchandiser will conduct store visits to ensure merchandising standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are in place in order to deliver consistent execution and financial results by leading and coaching for improvement. This individual shares best practices throughout the cooperative. In addition, this merchandiser will also be charged with the implementation and successful execution of all resets, remodels, new store setups, divisional programs, initiatives, and openings.
What you will do
- Provide knowledge and product information on various produce commodities to Wakefern procurement staff, Members, and Store personnel to enhance merchandising mix and sales opportunities.
- Convey leading edge knowledge of new, innovative concepts to ShopRite Members, Alternate Banner Members, Supervisors, and Store staff.
- Counsel Membership on all regulatory laws and compliance issues.
- Develop store Member Business Plans with sales goals, objectives, and measurables.
- Conduct quarterly Produce Manager/Supervisor meetings to introduce new products, concepts, and innovations plus solicit feedback on how Wakefern can provide better support and service.
- Monitor ad activity and retail pricing in ShopRite market areas.
- Assist in all remodels and new store openings.
- Develop value-added product lines to support the customer trends.
- Conduct and monitor yields of products to ensure proper sales value and gross profit at store level.
- Liaison with procurement staff to solicit vendors and products that are more advantageous to promote.
- Development of promotional P.O.S. materials pamphlets, and brochures
- Provide technical support to the Members to enhance sales, profits, and customer image. (Shrink Clinic, Training, etc.)
- Coach and counsel merchandising staff to focus on supporting corporate and department goals and objectives through written business plans and measurables.
- Work with Human Resources to develop retail training seminars and enhance our overall operation, customer image, and performance.
- In conjunction with Tech, develop user-friendly sales and gross profit reports and merchandising information (ie: QA scores, customer service measurements, demographics, etc.) to support perishables goals and objectives.

- Four year college degree strongly preferred. Equivalent retail supermarket experience will be considered in lieu of college degree.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
