As an Aircraft Structures Mechanic, you will utilize your manufacturing knowledge to set up tools and equipment for drilling and fastening complex structures, including composite materials. You will operate various hand and machine tools, including automated equipment, to perform tasks according to specifications while ensuring safety and quality standards. Your responsibilities will include recognizing and reporting any equipment malfunctions, performing maintenance, and coordinating the movement of materials and tools. Position Responsibilities:

• Review daily reports and consult with team leaders to determine job assignments and obtain necessary documentation.

• Locate work areas using specified drawings and paperwork.

• Verify kitted parts against installation plans and bill of materials, ensuring they are suitable and defect-free.

• Retrieve non-kitted parts from designated areas, ensuring compliance with specifications.

• Use electronic devices to access work instructions and engineering data (personal cell phones not permitted).

• Select and utilize appropriate hand and power tools for assembly tasks, including precision alignment equipment.

• Move kits, carts, and equipment within the work cell as needed.

• Load/unload jigs and operate mechanical lifts for assembly work.

• Locate tools and parts on aircraft using specified methods and set up assembly tools per instructions.

• Handle hazardous materials safely and dispose of them properly.

• Inspect completed work for defects and cleanliness before submission for inspection.

• Perform minor rework and maintain tool control in accordance with procedures.

• Maintain personal and tool certifications and seek assistance from supervisors when necessary.

• Set up tools and equipment for drilling and fastener installation in complex structures.

• Operate various hand and machine tools, monitoring equipment functionality and performing routine maintenance.

• Coordinate the movement and preparation of materials and tools for tasks.

• Cut, file, drill, and assemble parts, ensuring proper fitting and quality standards.

• Conduct reaming, riveting, and sealing operations, applying corrosion inhibitors as needed.

• Utilize calibrated tools to verify work against specifications and ensure quality.

• Manage equipment and materials within the work cell to ensure efficient workflow.

Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:

• Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.

Basic Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience using high impact vibratory tools; such as bucking/riveting.

Position Responsibilities:

• Work from blueprints, documents, standards, and other required specifications to complete assigned tasks.
• Obtain daily work assignments from the team leader or supervisor and read Installation Plans and applicable drawings to determine work areas.
• Select appropriate cleaning solvents and clean interior and exterior surfaces prior to sealing.
• Load sealing guns and clean sealing equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
• Hand mix sealant as required and perform rework or pickups on assigned assemblies.
• Assist with pressure testing operations as assigned.
• Use specified agents and procedures for tasks such as removing protective coatings, applying corrosion inhibitors, and reactivating paint surfaces.
• Ensure proper grounding of the aircraft prior to cleaning operations and set up ventilation equipment to supply fresh air in work areas.
• Keep supervisors informed of progress and coordinate information with employees on other shifts.
• Mask areas as required to facilitate corrosion removal or painting operations.
• Prepare fuel vents for leak tests and restore them to normal after testing.
• Apply corrosion preventative seal as required and measure, layout, and apply aerodynamic seals to skin gaps on leading and trailing edge panels.
• Submit completed jobs or in-process checks to inspectors for acceptance or rejection.
• Apply decals, metalcals, placards, and charts to specific locations on parts and assemblies as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Manage, evaluate, and improve the Temporary Event Permit process to align with community demographics, the city's business plan, and staff recommendations.
• Review applications for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with Parks and Recreation and city policy.
• Ensure timely issuance, denial, or conditional approval of permits.
• Maintain organized records of applications, permits, and event outcomes.
• Provide technical assistance and support to event organizers throughout the permitting process.
• Assist with review and feedback on site plans, logistics, safety, and accessibility.
• Conduct post-event evaluations and incident reviews as needed.
• Coordinate and serve as a liaison with internal city departments, external organizations, and multi-department representatives for special events and projects.
• Identify, apply for, and manage local, state, and federal grant opportunities in support of Parks and Recreation programs, capital improvement projects, and community events for youth, adults, and seniors.
• Track grant reporting requirements and ensure compliance with funding terms.
• Develop, manage, and recruit sponsorship opportunities to support Parks and Recreation programs and events, including Renton River Days.
• Evaluate and recommend updates to sponsorship policies and procedures.
• Cultivate relationships with local businesses, foundations, and partners to secure financial and in-kind support.
• Maintain records of sponsorship agreements and recognition plans.
• Develop and maintain user-friendly materials, forms, and online resources to support the permit process and promote sponsorship opportunities.
• Track data and generate reports on event activity, sponsorship income, and grant performance.
• Evaluate and recommend improvements to increase program efficiency and accessibility.
