Set up and prepare room with appropriate instruments, supplies, and equipment specific to procedures. Utilizes advanced knowledge of sterile and surgical techniques by practicing aseptic techniques.
- Can speak to and perform the process of preparing contaminated instruments for cleaning, transporting contaminated instruments to sterile processing department, and how to retrieve clean sterilized instruments from sterile processing department. Assist with supply inventory by locating expired supplies and informing necessary personnel when inventory is low, depleted, or on backorder and takes appropriate action.
- Accesses and handles selected medications and administers contrast. Administers contrast material in the correct dosage, route and observes patients for adverse reactions. Informs and assists physicians and radiologists with patient scheduling, patient transfers, and emergency cases ensuring that all pre-exam procedures are followed including allergic reaction and level tests.
- Processes acquired images onto PACS. Ensures that images and records are properly completed with patient identification data and appropriate labeling. Completes exam charges and image documentation in a timely manner.
- Operates and maintains equipment including warm-up, running quality assurance checks, calibration, provide routine troubleshooting procedures, request repair and notifying supervisor of maintenance needs. Maintains a record of quality assurance tests to ensure that equipment runs efficiently and effectively. Maintains all passwords to each computer system. Participates in all aspects of The Joint Commission Continual Readiness.
- Serves as a lead worker and resource to other staff as needed. Instructs students and/or new employees on the use of specialized equipment to ensure adequate training and improved patient care. ​ Develops and demonstrates change agility while maintaining mortality and morbidity expectations.
​ Demonstrates continuous learning through the early adoption of new ways of underwriting.
​ Develops proficiency with Reinsurance programs and determining where to best place a case.
Underwrites applications, maintaining industry-leading mortality and morbidity giving the best possible offer that can be made.
Provides active case and requirement management and provides customized service with guidance.
​ Communicates & negotiates with Field Partners to explain modified or declined decisions & assist in policy placement.
​ Develops proficiency in financial, medical, and lay underwriting assessments and provides innovations solutions to keep Northwestern Mutual as the choice of our customers.
Actively utilizes the most effective means to obtain the necessary information, including digital health data, Internet searches, direct contact with the insured, and communication with third party advisors (Accountants, Attorneys, etc.) with limited guidance.
Discusses cases with peer reviewers with medical and technical staff, as needed.
​ Understands and meets all quality, service, and production goals​.
Solves issues & escalations, with guidance as needed.

Qualifications A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
1.5 years of traditional underwriting experience.

Enterprise Data Management (EDM) Development Engineer

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Enterprise Data Management (EDM) Engineer to join our Private Market data team. This role focuses on the development, configuration, and maintenance of EDM solutions, specifically leveraging Markit / S&P EDM. The successful candidate will play a key role in building EDM UI components, crafting high-quality SQL transformations, and supporting data ingestion, validation, and publishing workflows across enterprise financial data domains.

- Work with a dynamic team supporting critical financial data management platforms.
- Engage in hands-on development and configuration of EDM components including UI, workflows, and data validation logic.
- Collaborate closely with data analysts and business stakeholders to deliver governed, high-quality data solutions.
- Opportunity to develop and lead a critical Private Markets data solution; to deepen expertise in private market data and enterprise data management best practices.
- Develop, configure, and maintain Markit / S&P EDM components such as UI screens, workflows, data flows, rules, and data validation/enrichment logic.
- Build and enhance EDM UI components to support operational and data management workflows.
- Design, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, views, and stored procedures for data transformation, validation, and reporting purposes.
- Support data ingestion processes and publishing workflows within EDM to downstream consumers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data issues, UI problems, and workflow failures across multiple environments within EDM.
- Collaborate with data management teams and business stakeholders to gather and implement data requirements within EDM.
- Ensure EDM solutions is in compliance with data governance, data quality standards, and audit requirements.
- Participate actively in code reviews, documentation efforts, and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Hands-on experience with Markit / S&P EDM platform development and configuration.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, including writing complex queries, views, and stored procedures.
- Experience developing and maintaining EDM UI components and configuring data workflows.
- Solid understanding of data ingestion, validation, and publishing workflows in an enterprise data environment.
- Understanding of Private Markets fund structures, investment patterns, and core data
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to data, UI, and workflows.
- Familiarity with data governance, data quality frameworks, and audit processes.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with data analysts, business users, and technical teams.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in financial services organizations that service private markets and/or private market asset managers
- Knowledge of additional data management tools or platforms.
- Experience in creating or owning version control, code review processes, as well as agile development methodologies.
