The Clinical Nutrition Informaticist is a clinical professional with a Registered Dietitian background who reports to the Assistant Director of Patient Nutrition Services. This role provides clinical nutrition informatics services for the Nutrition and Food Services departments within WellStar Health System (WHS). Participates in the assessment of needs pertaining to nutrition-related information systems, including hardware, software, staff development and management support. Provides content expertise that supports care area teams. Analyzes, designs, implements and evaluates information and communication systems as related to clinical nutrition and patient meal services that enhance individual and population outcomes, improve patient care and strengthen the clinician-patient relationship. This role assists with the development, maintenance and revision of nutrition components in the electronic health record and food service software systems that support patient care. Implements processes to promote evidence based practice for the medical staff in the clinical software system. Performs patient and retail menu planning, as needed while using current state, federal and local nutrition practice guidelines. Conducts nutrient analysis for recipes and meal plans using approved nutrient databases and software. In collaboration with Nutrition and Food Services leadership, this role designs, develops and implements clinical nutrition informatics plans. Applies change management methodologies to advance the utilization of nutrition informatics. Oversees end-user optimization and efficiency, embeds evidence-based practice and analytics model to ensure patient outcomes and improve performance. Works with members of information technology departments, providers, super-users, clinical departments and other WHS personnel to accomplish strategic goals.

Job Summary and QualificationsOperates CT Scanning imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patient’s body for diagnostic purposes. CT Scan: Population Served Core competencies will be assessed primarily on the following patient population(s) served: Imaging with and without contrast of cardio-pulmonary, vascular, neuro , GI, GU, GYN, skeletal/muscular conditions and diseases including but not limited to: PVD, CVA/TIA, COPD, CHF, HNP, oncology, etc.
What you will do in this role:
- You will operate diagnostic equipment, verify images and prepare the room with necessary equipment and supplies for the procedure.
- You will be responsible for ensuring that proper diagnostic information is provided through the production of high-quality CT scans.
- You will perform CT exams on a variety of different body parts in a timely manner.
- You will complete appropriate history forms and technologist exam sheet.
- You will start I.V.s and check labs as needed.
- Two yeas' experience in Radiology preferred, with additional training in CT modality preferred.
- Must be a graduate of an accredited AMA program with a certificate or degree in Radiologic Technology.
- (ARRT) certification is required and CT certification is preferred.
- BLS required upon hire (AHA or Red Cross) within 30-days of hire date.
- Registered Radiographer (ARRT), or Bachelors Degree, or Certificate, or Associate Degree.

A BRIEF OVERVIEW
- The Nuclear Medicine technologist assists with providing safe, age appropriate care to the patient by performing all exams provided by the department per department procedures.
- The technologist has the knowledge and ability to properly and safely obtain a quality diagnostic study.
- He/she is responsible for performing a wide variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in the utilization of the equipment for the diagnosis and/or treatment of diseases.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Leadership
- Maintains modality workflow to assure patient throughput that maximizes equipment utilization and meets patient’s expectations regarding wait time and thoroughness of exam.
- Provides feedback on employee performance management by communicating employee performance concerns to Chief Tech.
- Manage department productivity adhering to operational standards.
- Works with Chief Tech on new protocol implementation.
- Assures that adequate supplies are available in the modality.
- Attends and productively participates in Lead Meetings and department meetings.

Equipment

- Reports problems regarding malfunctioning equipment to supervisor or service provider, so that problem can be corrected in a timely manner.
- Cleans, disinfects and maintains equipment in accordance with infection control policy and department cleaning schedule.
Patient Care
- Verifies proper clinician order for procedure.
- Obtains complete clinical history, gathers examination data and assesses for contraindicating conditions.
- Follows established procedures for the administration of radiopharmaceuticals so that no patient condition deteriorates, and no patient suffers undue pain, due to error or poor technique.
- Ensures that all studies have proper patient identification and right and left marker are utilized appropriately.
- Reviews images for clinically acceptable results and releases patients.
- Responds to emergency situations and provides for the restocking of the crash cart and maintenance of life support equipment.
- Assists other technologists in all modalities when needed.
- Observes patient condition and properly evaluates situations when physician intervention is necessary so that no patient condition deteriorates.

- Studies that have been transmitted after hours to teleradiography are printed and scanned in PACS, if applicable.
- Completes all studies in RIS before completing in PACS.
- Prints completed log sheet from teleradiography and submits to Radiologist, if applicable.
Operations
- Restocks linens and supplies, and maintains NM department in clean and orderly condition.
- Transports patients, positions patients, and helps them on and off procedure table.
- Performs patient charging activities on the day the service is rendered.
- Applies supportive and immobilization devices and equipment.
- Willingly lends knowledge and assistance to others upon request as needed and routinely as time is available, without prompting, so that all working time is used for departmental advantage.
- Performs routine duties of clerical and support personnel in accordance with procedure when warranted to ensure continuity and quality of services.
- Keeps supervisor informed on all responsibilities on an ongoing basis, ensuring prompt notification in the event of problems or potential problems.
- Maintains an individual productivity rate equal to other co-workers.
