• As this position requires driving Penske and customer vehicles, it is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file to be maintained as required by the role.

The driver qualification file includes: an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, a successfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last 3 years.

Additionally, CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and subject to a FMCSA Clearinghouse review.

• Willingness to travel as necessary within the district (customers yards, close geographical area and training sites), work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.

This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required.

The Opportunity

This is a unique executive opportunity for a physician leader to shape the future of our Occupational Medicine services in Louisiana. The Regional Medical Director of Occupational Medicine is a "player-coach" role, blending strategic oversight, program development, and hands-on clinical practice. You will be responsible for the clinical quality, operational efficiency, and financial success of the OccMed service line across all clinics in the region. You will lead our clinical teams, build lasting partnerships with major employers, and provide direct supervision for our Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), all while maintaining our clinical practice at our Youngsville, LA clinic.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Program Development (20%):

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive regional strategy to grow market share and expand Occupational Medicine services.
  • Standardize clinical protocols, workflows, and best practices across all regional locations to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
  • Partner closely with the sales and business development teams to attract, onboard, and retain key corporate clients.
  • Analyze regional performance metrics (KPIs), financial reports, and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Serve as the clinical subject matter expert during high-level sales presentations and contract negotiations.

Clinical Oversight & APP Supervision (5%):

  • Serve as the designated supervising or collaborating physician for Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), including Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, across the region.
  • Maintain a full supervisory roster, overseeing up to the maximum number of APPs as permitted under your license by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
  • Fulfill all supervisory duties, including regular chart reviews.
  • Provide direct clinical leadership and mentorship to all physicians and APPs in the region regarding occupational medicine
  • Act as the primary point of escalation for complex clinical cases, client concerns, and regulatory inquiries.
  • Implement and lead a robust quality assurance (QA) program for your region.

Hands-On Clinical Practice (75%):

  • Maintain a clinical practice based at our Youngsville, LA flagship clinic.
  • Perform the full spectrum of occupational health services, including workers' compensation injury management, DOT physicals, and pre-employment examinations.
  • Provide coverage in urgent care as needed, serving as a model of clinical excellence for the team.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • Board Certification in a relevant specialty (Occupational Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine).
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of clinical experience with a significant focus in Occupational Medicine.
  • Proven leadership experience (e.g., Medical Director, Lead Physician, or similar multi-site oversight role).
  • Must hold an active, unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Louisiana with eligibility to supervise APPs.
  • Current, unrestricted DEA registration.
  • Must be a Certified Medical Examiner on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME) for DOT physicals.

Preferred:

  • Board Certified in Occupational Medicine (ABPM).
  • Significant experience supervising and mentoring Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
  • Medical Review Officer (MRO) certification.
  • Advanced degree (MPH, MHA, MBA) is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in business development and managing client relationships.
  • Strong business acumen with experience in budget oversight or P&L responsibility.

Summary

Serves as an extension of the CEO, providing a broad range of administrative services to support the goals of the company as well as the overall mission of the organization. The Executive Assistant must be creative and enjoy working within an environment that is mission-driven, results-driven and community oriented. The Executive Assistant will have the ability to work independently on projects, from conception to completion, and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.


Responsibilities:

  • Plans, coordinates, and ensures the CEO's schedule is followed and respected; provides "gatekeeper" and "gateway" role, creating win-win situations for direct access to the CEO's time and office
  • Manages the CEO's travel schedule, arrangements, and reimbursement.
  • Prepares the executive for each day by presenting a calendar, gathering, and organizing appropriate supporting materials and files for meetings and activities, and reviewing the information with the executive.
  • Develops & maintains executive's "to do" list and helps communicate delegated tasks to other members of the Executive Team.
  • Works closely and effectively with the CEO to keep well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with several C-Suite Executives
  • Assist in coordinating and scheduling special events, conferences, and workshops
  • Perform office administrative duties including maintaining office files, typing correspondence, operating office equipment, etc.
  • Coordinate logistics and operations for local and off-site meetings and events
  • Prioritizes conflicting needs; handles matters expeditiously, proactively, and follows-through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures
  • Support/Meeting Coordination for the various non-profit boards
  • Perform specialized or confidential administrative duties, including researching data and preparing reports as needed.
  • Miscellaneous Administrative Work to other Vice Presidents/Managers
  • Rollover Operation for Front Desk Phone
  • Meeting Coordination and building/editing meeting agendas
  • Majority of work is in the office location. Opportunities for remote work is uncommon.


Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Five or more years of experience working in a demanding executive environment
  • Efficient in the use of software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Professional, MS CoPilot and other developing AI tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in fostering and maintaining relationships in a project team environment
  • Excellent communication skills, especially in written correspondence and technical writing
  • Must have strong time management and organizational skills to cope effectively with deadlines and multiple demands
  • Must be detail-oriented, results-driven, and excellent at multi-tasking
  • Proficiency using standard office equipment such as computer, photocopier, scanner, etc.
