Job Overview

The Principal, Engineer is a hands-on subject matter expert who oversees the software design of multiple system components and leads the technical implementation of key initiatives. This role thrives in fast-paced environments and requires deep expertise across diverse domains.

The Principal, Engineer demonstrates strong proficiency in Java, Python, data structures, and algorithms, actively participating in hands-on development tasks. Experience in packaged software design and implementation is also required.

Working closely with Product Managers, Technical Leads, Software Engineers, Principal Engineers, Quality Assurance Engineers, and Architects, the Principal, Engineer delivers high-quality software solutions while ensuring timely, budget-conscious releases.

What You Will Do

  • Responsible for the cost, schedule and execution of the Coyote Block 3 Plus (CB3+) Systems Integration and Test (SI&T) activities within a structure of CB3+ Cross Product / Systems.
  • Lead flight test, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) proposal, HIL development, cross product verification testing, and cross product lab integration efforts.
  • Lead a cross product team of IPTLs and multidisciplinary engineers (~15-20).
  • Collaborate and effectively communicate with other CPTs, IPTs, program leadership, customers, and business associates both internal and external to Raytheon.
  • Support for budget and schedule efforts for multiple contracts by coordinating with program planning, finance, & leadership to execute Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis.
  • Coordinate with program and functional leadership to staff the team.
  • Travel up to 10%.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience managing cost, schedule, and execution for technical projects.
  • Experience leading/contributing to proposals, such as creating BOEs, contributing to leadership proposal reviews.
  • Program Manager Certification level six (6) or ability to obtain within the first year in the role.
