Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Position description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for initial and follow-up Psychiatric consults in select assisted living and skilled nursing facilities.
 
 Daily patient encounters will be approximately between 11 to 16, depending on the mix of initial vs. follow-up services. Only light clinical documentation is required - just initial and follow-up progress notes. There is minimal bureaucracy or busy-work: no H&P’s, no “discharge summaries”, no “treatment plans”, no “treatment team meetings” or “rounds”. We use streamlined, one page note templates which facilitate an efficient workflow.
 
 All of our clinicians perform the exact same duties, so together we have refined our processes to be as efficient and pleasant as possible. There are no hospital-based services, no admissions, no discharges, minimal administrative responsibilities beyond the described clinical documentation, and billing submission.
 
 Participation in our telephone-based on-call schedule will consist of about 1 weeknight in 7 and less than one weekend/month. Call is via phone only. There are no on-call rounds, no admissions (or admission orders), no discharges (or discharge orders). Phone calls during on-call shift are infrequent: during most on-call shifts, there are zero phone calls received.
 
 Daily work schedule is flexible, position affords much autonomy/independence – but at the same time, support and assistance is always available to you from our three psychiatrists and colleagues.
 
Experience prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medications is very strongly preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.  PMHNP certification is required in Pennsylvania, and is ideal in NJ (but Family & Geriatric are acceptable in NJ).
 
Compensation:

• We offer very competitive compensation – FT salary from $130,000 and upward (based on experience/resume), with annual increases, and available productivity bonuses, as well as the option of full health benefits and a retirement plan for FT position, 4 weeks PTO, 3 CME days with stipend and/or reimbursement for license renewals, and national Holidays off.

The RCM Specialist II is an individual contributor role on the RCM team, responsible for AR follow-up, posting payments, processing refunds and credits, and auditing accounts accurately. This role supports the full revenue cycle, helping ensure timely resolution of outstanding balances, clean financial records, and a smooth experience for both practices and patients. An ideal candidate has a strong understanding of AR processes, account research, and payer guidelines. They are detail-oriented, analytical, and confident in navigating account-level discrepancies and improving key revenue cycle metrics. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform all assigned RCM activities in accordance with best practices and internal SOPs.
• Perform AR follow-up to resolve unpaid or underpaid claims, denials, and aged balances through appropriate action (i.e. appeals, corrections, resubmissions, etc.)
• Audit accounts to verify accurate claim submission, payment application, adjustments, and resolution of outstanding balances.
• Review and resolve credit balances; process refunds to insurance and patients in compliance with regulations and internal policies.

• Collection Rate: Monitor and report on the net collection rate, analyzing performance against targets. Collaborate with the team to identify opportunities for improvement. 
• Days in AR: Track and evaluate average days in AR to ensure appropriate advanced collection, payment application, efficient and accurate claim filing, and timely back-end billing and claim resolution. Investigate and address any delays or bottlenecks that may be causing extended days in AR. 
• % AR Over 90 Days: Review and analyze the percentage of AR over 90 days (insurance v. patient) to identify trends or issues requiring attention. Work with the team to reduce the percentage of aged receivables by implementing strategies to resolve outstanding claims and payments. 
• Identify trends in rejections, disputes, payment delays, and denials, and escalate issues for resolution. Always seek the root cause to avoid future issues
• Maintain respect and professionalism in all interactions with internal stakeholders, patients, payers, third parties, and others

• Prior experience in Dental Office workflows, Revenue Cycle functions to include Scheduling, Registration, Insurance verification, fee schedules, claim submission, charging/coding requirements, insurance AR follow up and payment posting process

Summary

• Provides recovery-oriented screenings and comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessments for assigned individual with reference to substance use challenges, when appropriate.
• Provides individual and group therapy to address addictive behaviors that complicate primary mental/behavioral health issues, using Evidence Based practices and approaches.
• systematic in multidisciplinary team meetings, individual supervision, group supervision to review progress on cases to ensure communication and comprehensive approach to treatment including collaborating with external teams to ensure coordination between systems; participates in supervision/meetings aimed to enhance skills related to providing effective care.
• Views individuals from a strengths approach in preparation of treatment plans, with a focus on recovery.

• Demonstrate active caseload management: evaluating level and frequency of care, outreach, and consistent scheduling, prompting care coordination (as appropriate), and following discharge/aftercare planning.

Outpatient Therapist Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field. or;
• Full certification as an addiction's counselor or a co-occurring disorder professional by a statewide certification body which is a member of a National Certification Body or certified by another state government’s certification board. (Certification includes: CAADC (Child & Adolescent Anxiety Disorders Clinic), ADC, CAAC (Certified Associate Addictions Counselor), CCJP, CCDP, and CCDPD). Advanced degree preferred with experience working with individuals diagnosed with both mental/behavioral health and substance use diagnoses. (Agency works with each clinician to develop a training program to expand their expertise in evidence-based practices).
• Active professional licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LSW, or equivalent)—or pre-licensed clinicians with supervision options, if applicable.
• Experience in behavioral health /substance use field.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, with strong reading and writing skills is required.
• Experience providing mental health or behavioral health therapy.
• Strong clinical documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload.
