The CT Technologist performs computed tomography procedures and related techniques, producing sectional and three-dimensional images for the interpretation and assists with interventional and therapeutic procedures.


Responsibilties:

A day in the life of a CT Technologist at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

 

1. Performs complex CT procedures.
2. Evaluates radiographs to ensure that radiographs contain proper identification and are of diagnostic value.
3. Uses consistent and appropriate techniques to gather relevant information from the medical record, health care proxy and health care providers to prepare protocols for scanning and patient safety. The collection of information is determined by the patient's needs or condition.
4. Determines whether the patient has been appropriately prepared for the procedure.
5. Preps patient for scanning: (i.e. shielding, immobilization devices).
6. Assist providers with CT guided Interventional procedures as required.
7. Perform CT examination and administer contrast following established departmental protocols.
8. Provides accurate explanations and instructions at any appropriate time and at a level the patient can understand. Addresses and documents patient questions and concerns regarding the procedure when appropriate.
9. Performs venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance procedures according to established guidelines.
10. Monitors the patient's physical condition during the procedure.
11. Reviews images to determine if additional scans will enhance the diagnostic value of the procedure.
12. Performs retrospective reconstruction on raw data.
13. Provides technical assistance and instruction to students, employees, and medical residents.
14. Adheres to the principals of image gently & image wisely.
15. Follow & adheres to infection control guidelines and sterile techniques.
16. Revises scanning parameters to better visualize the pathology in accordance with established protocol.
17. Reviews all diagnostic or therapeutic data for completeness and accuracy.
18. Documents diagnostic, treatment, and patient data in the appropriate record.
19. Archives images to data storage devices according to established guidelines.
20. Assesses equipment to determine acceptable performance based on established guidelines.
21. Performs daily clerical duties, which includes the use of EPIC, PACS, Teletracking System, computer system, patient scheduling, and other computer systems as added by hospital.
22. Greets all patients when they arrive for their exam utilizing AIDET standards.
23. Administers emergency care including performing CPR, if necessary.
24. Responsible for scheduled shifts including holidays and weekends.
25. Overtime as needed to provide continual quality patient care.
26. On call assignments as needed per Department of Radiology policy.
27. Adheres to the policy of Employee ID, Standards of Behavior, Attendance, and Punctuality.
28. Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and /or visually impaired, etc.). This process includes communicating with the patient, parent, and/or primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.).
29. Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
30. Performs modality specific daily and monthly QA.
31. Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Responsibilties:

A day in the life of a Executive Director, Development, Riverview Medical Center at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

 

  • In collaboration with the CHE and Senior Vice President of Healthcare Development, manage the affairs of the hospital foundation, including but not limited to: Developing, executing and monitoring a comprehensive development program; setting and achieving goals; legal, financial and general management; Board management and trustee recruitment.
  • Responsible for setting realistic, challenging goals and directing major gift activity aimed at meeting those goals within budget.
  • Develop and maintain senior level communication with CHE, Board of Trustees and Senior Vice President of Healthcare Development to align priorities, goals and strategies in the creation and implementation of a comprehensive development program for the hospital. The Cardiac Nurse Navigator, in collaboration with the cardiologists, APN's, and the entire healthcare team, oversees and supports the cardiac patient and their significant other(s). The Cardiac Nurse Navigator is a member of the healthcare team and is responsible for coordinating, communicating and facilitating the care of selected patients with primary cardiac care needs. The navigator is accountable for a designated case load determined by the careful daily selection of eligible patients. They assess, plan, and facilitate, with patients/families and healthcare professionals involved in the patient's care to meet treatment goals, and arrange for the appropriate next steps. Oversees Interfacility Coordination and handoff between acute & outpatient services.
Responsibilties:
1. Participates in the collaboration with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for selected patients and their families.

- All patients who are admitted for medical care will be screened for potential eligibility to the Cardiac Transitions of Care (TOC) program. All eligible patients will be enrolled.
- Meets directly with the patient/family to assess needs, based on assessment and prior evaluation from care coordinators/case management and develop an individualized needs assessment.
- Facilitates communication and coordination between members of the health care team and involves the patient/family in the decision making process, in order to minimize fragmentation of services, manage resources and remove barriers to the discharge plan of care.

- Maintains current and up to date information of community resources and refers patients to those community resources which will enhance patient's life and clinical outcomes. - Documents and communicates information to the Multidisciplinary Team in order to coordinate and maximize care. The Department of Neurosurgery has a highly experienced team of neurosurgeons and interventional surgical neuroradiologists providing care to patients with large vessel occlusions, intracerebral hemorrhage and subarachnoid hemorrhage. The neurocritical care program runs a fully staffed and closed Neurocritical Care unit. Night call is facilitated by the availability of telemedicine robots to all members of the stroke service. Outpatient stroke clinics provide consultation for complex stroke diagnoses as well as follow-up for discharged patients. Teaching responsibilities include stroke neurology training of medical students and neurology and other residents.

Qualifications:

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 1. Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program. 2. Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. 3. Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and clinical practice. 4. Experience in a relevant patient care setting (or as regulations dictate). 5. National Provider Identifier (NPI). 6. Prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration according to New Jersey state law. 7. Collaborative agreement with physicians on staff. 8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 9. Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
