• Lead high-acuity patient care across Intermediate and Med/Surg units, utilizing your specialized training in progressive care to stabilize and support complex patients.
• Orchestrate the care journey by serving as the central point of contact for all clinical disciplines, ensuring every patient receives a seamless and well-coordinated recovery plan.
• Monitor and advocate for patient safety by maintaining a vigilant eye on clinical conditions and documenting care journeys with precision to ensure high-quality outcomes.
• Adapt and respond to evolving hospital needs, providing expert nursing support where the hospital’s highest-acuity cases require it most.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing OR current home state license if considered multi-state/Compact State.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of
  hire required.

• 3 or more years of nursing experience
• Med/surg and progressive care trained (chest tubes, cardizem gtt, amiodarone gtt., etc.). We are the tertiary care site for Ascension so all specialty and high acuity patients are sent to our campus.

Experience:

• 24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 18 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 months within the past 12 months.

• Experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.

• Experience with Alaris is preferred from any number of months.

• Experience with Omnicell is preferred from any number of months.

• BSN completion preferred

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience:
- General Med/Tele skillset: Stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management, etc), PCA pumps

o Medication gtt management to include: Cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, IVF

Unit/Facility Details: Parking: Free Employee Parking Deck

Shift & Scheduling: 36 or 48 hours are available.
Weekend Rotation: EOW
Holiday Requirements: Travelers will work 75% of holidays

Floating Requirements
Will be required to float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice –
Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH (peds only) – could float to any of the facilities within region if the need arises ▪ If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)
