Position Overview:

The Plumbing Superintendent is responsible for managing all field operations related to plumbing system installation on construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and oversee plumbing system installation, ensuring timely delivery to job sites and precise field installation.

Qualifications:

Overview We are seeking a skilled, hands-on tradesperson—ideally a proven Job Site Foreman—with deep field experience in plumbing and HVAC to step up into this Estimator / Project Manager role. This position offers the opportunity to take full ownership of projects from pre-construction estimating through successful closeout, building on your field expertise while developing estimating, budgeting, and client-facing skills. You'll serve as the primary point of accountability for project success, working closely with the Outside Superintendent, field teams, clients, and general contractors to deliver safe, on-time, on-budget work that meets or exceeds expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Estimating & Pre-Construction Prepare accurate, detailed bids for plumbing and HVAC projects, including labor, materials, equipment, subs, and general conditions. Review plans, specs, and addenda; identify risks, value-engineering opportunities, and scope clarifications/exclusions. Participate in bid reviews, negotiations, contract finalization, and buy-out.
• Project Turnover & Planning Lead project turnover meetings to clearly transfer knowledge to the field team (Superintendent and Foreman). Cover scope, schedule, manpower, logistics, safety, long-lead items, permits, and heavy equipment needs.
• Project Execution & Management Manage contracts, budgets, schedules, and cost tracking/forecasting. Monitor productivity, control costs, and address issues proactively. Handle change orders: identify, price, negotiate, and document changes. Coordinate internally with field leadership to resolve RFIs, sequencing, and constructability challenges.
• External Coordination & Communication Act as primary contact for general contractors, owners, engineers, and inspectors. Manage RFIs, submittals, approvals, and trade coordination to prevent conflicts/delays.

Qualifications & Ideal Background

• Extensive hands-on experience as a Job Site Foreman or equivalent in commercial/industrial plumbing and/or HVAC construction.

Our maintenance staff are critical to the university's success. They are responsible for keeping the university operational 24/7. Our maintenance department consists of a team of skilled Maintenance Engineers who are skilled trade generalists with some level of experience in Electrical, HVAC, and Plumbing. The licensed Plumber will work with our Maintenance Engineers and be responsible for directing work and senior-level troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of commercial and residential plumbing systems. The ideal candidate must be responsible and organized and have a desire to take on significant responsibility.

The role will require availability for on-call duty which may include nights, weekends, and holidays, in case of emergencies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 7–10 years of industrial plumbing project management experience.

We are a full-service MEP engineering and consulting company. We are servicing the building industry in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services for different building types such as single-family custom homes, multifamily, mid-rise, high-rise, commercial, office spaces, retail, restaurants, mixed-use, and industrial. We have an opening for Plumbing Engineer &/or Project Manager who can handle the following responsibilities. 

• Design of residential and commercial plumbing systems including calculations, piping layout, riser diagrams, equipment schedules, and details

• Coordination of the plumbing plans per developer, builder, architect, civil engineer, and other disciplines plans and requirements.

• Attending design and coordination meetings daily.

• Managing the project from schematic design (SD) phase all the way through the final stages of construction administration (CA). 

• Designing the plans using AutoCAD & REVIT 

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience 

• Plumbing Design and Project Management experience, 2-6 years (preferred)

• Experience in AutoCAD & REVIT

Maintenance Mechanic III (Journeyman Plumber Experience) – Good Samaritan Hospital

Start time flexible between 6:00 a.m.–8:00 a.m.; 8-hour shifts

Under the direction of the Supervisor, this position is responsible for the expert-level maintenance and repair of hospital buildings, facilities, and equipment. The role requires journeyman-level plumbing expertise as well as working knowledge and reasonable proficiency in additional building trades.

The Maintenance Mechanic III provides technical guidance to helpers, workers, and mechanics on maintenance operations and assists the Supervisor in identifying optimal methods for maintenance and system operations. This position requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, including determining maintenance needs, establishing priorities, and responding appropriately. A strong customer service orientation is essential.
