Diesel Mechanic Fleet Technician II

*Job Summary*
The Fleet Technician II is responsible for performing inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on MCI, Van Hool, and Temsa motorcoaches, and International school buses. This role ensures that all vehicles meet DOT, company, and manufacturer standards.

*Responsibilities*

* Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, air brake, HVAC, and drivetrain issues on MCI, Van Hool, and Temsa motorcoaches (including models such as J4500, ).
* Backup mechanic for International school buses
* Perform routine preventative maintenance, inspections, and scheduled services.
* Conduct road tests when required to verify repairs.
* Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
* Ensure compliance with safety procedures and DOT regulations.
* Collaborate with other technicians and operations staff to address fleet needs.
* Use diagnostic tools, schematics, manuals, and OEM software where applicable.
* On-call rotation for emergencies and questions.

*Qualifications*

* *Required:*
* 2+ years of heavy-duty diesel, bus, or truck mechanic experience, or equivalent classroom training
* Strong knowledge of MCI bus systems or willingness to train
* Proficiency with air brake systems, electrical diagnostics, and engine repair
* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams
* Valid drivers license
* *Preferred:*
* CDL Class B with passenger endorsement (or ability to obtain)
* Experience with Detroit Diesel, Cummins, or similar engines
* OEM training or certifications on MCI vehicles
* HVAC certification (EPA 608)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 45 per week
