About This Role

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Decision Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience is preferred.
- 7+ years of work experience required in Network, Cloud Network, Network Security, and other areas directly relevant to Network/Cloud/Automation responsibilities and tasks; multiple certifications preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working in large, complex enterprise environments.
Technical Experience
Network, Cloud, and Automation
- 7+ years of experience with enterprise routing, switching, firewalls, and wireless networks, with HPE Aruba and Fortinet experience preferred.
- 5+ years of experience designing, building, and operating network infrastructure in cloud platforms, with Azure preferred.
- Strong understanding of hybrid networking models connecting on‑premise environments with public cloud platforms.
- Experience with network automation and scripting using languages such as Python, Ansible or PowerShell.

You will:
Customer Engagement & Post‑Sales Architecture
Lead technical discovery sessions with customers to gather thermal, environmental, mechanical, and operational requirements
Design end‑to‑end liquid cooling solutions featuring rear‑door heat exchangers, CDUs, manifolds, hoses, fittings, and facility water loop considerations

Practice Development
Define standards and repeatable processes for liquid cooling implementations.
Contribute to service offerings that support deployment, maintenance, and ongoing optimization of liquid cooling systems

Essential Requirements
7+ years in data center infrastructure, solutions architecture, mechanical/thermal engineering, or HPC environments
Hands-on experience with: Rear-door heat exchangers (enclosed or active systems)
Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs), Secondary Fluids Network (SFN) design and fabrication
Coolant loop design, manifolds, flexible hose routing, connectors, drip‑less fittings, sensors, etc.
Rack and system level liquid cooling technologies, including multiple cooling loops, and direct-to-chip cooling
Strong understanding of: Heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics
Facility water loops and integration points
Flow balancing, delta‑T analysis, and pump performance curves
Leak detection and safety best practices
Familiarity with data center power/cooling concepts (rack-level thermals, airflow management).
Architecture & Customer-Facing Skills
Experience conducting customer requirement gathering and converting needs into detailed solution architectures
Ability to write clear architectural documentation, diagrams, and BOMs
Comfort supporting deployments hands‑on and resolving technical issues in the field
Ability to travel to customer’s locations1
Soft Skills
Excellent communication and customer engagement skills
Ability to simplify complex engineering topics for non‑technical audiences
Self‑starter comfortable defining processes and building practice maturity
Working cross-functionally across different teams
Desirable Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or similar field
Proficiency with Thermal Simulation tools (ANSYS Icepak, FloTHERM, FloEFD, ANSYS Mechanical)
Experience with high‑density compute environments (AI/ML, HPC, GPU racks)
Data center‑related certifications (CDCP, CDCS, DCEP Generalist, DCEP-HVAC Specialist etc.)
Familiarity with RDHx and CDU vendors such as Vertiv, Schneider Electric, Motivair, Liebert, Rittal, nVent, CoolIT, etc.
Knowledge of monitoring and control systems (Modbus, BACnet, SNMP, CDU controllers)
Compensation: Dell is committed to Fair and Equitable compensation practices. The Base Salary Range for this role is $170,850 to $ 221,100.

The SMT Principal Engineer I at Jabil, Inc. is a senior technical contributor responsible for leading advanced surface mount technology (SMT) process development, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple manufacturing lines to ensure high-quality and efficient production of complex electronic assemblies.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and optimization of SMT processes, including paste printing, pick-and-place FUJI, reflow soldering, and post-reflow inspection (AOI, X-ray).
- Conduct in-depth analysis of SMT process data, identifying root causes of defects and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and qualify new SMT equipment, materials, and processes, ensuring seamless integration into existing production environments.
- Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and production teams on SMT best practices, troubleshooting, and process control.
- Collaborate with design engineering, supply chain, and quality departments to ensure manufacturability (DFM) of new products and resolve SMT-related design issues.
- Drive continuous improvement projects utilizing methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and SPC to enhance SMT yield, throughput, and reliability.
- Author and maintain comprehensive SMT process documentation, including work instructions, process specifications, and failure analysis reports.
- Evaluate and implement new SMT technologies and industry trends to maintain Jabil's competitive edge and address evolving product requirements.
- Lead efforts in root cause analysis for complex SMT failures, implementing robust solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Represent Jabil in technical discussions with customers and suppliers regarding SMT process capabilities and new product introductions.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field. Master's degree preferred.
- 8-12 years of progressive experience in SMT process engineering within a high-volume electronics manufacturing environment.
- Strong Knowledge of FUJI Setup, Nexim and Valor
- Demonstrated expertise in SMT equipment operation, programming, and maintenance, including printers, pick-and-place machines (e.g., Fuji, Programming, etc.), reflow ovens, and inspection systems (AOI, SPI, X-ray).
- In-depth knowledge of various soldering technologies, solder paste chemistries, and component packaging.
- Proven track record of leading process improvement projects and achieving significant yield and cost reductions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making (e.g., SPC, DOE).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) and CAD software for DFM analysis.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
