Kiefer School provides special education for children who experience difficulty in their home school due to severe emotional, behavioral and/or learning challenges. Kiefer is an AdvancEd accredited, ISBE-approved private school. Our Academy for Autism serves students ages 5-22 with an educational or medical diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Through intervention with ISBE licensed educators and teacher assistants in each classroom and small class sizes, our students are able to find their pathway to success using innovative tools and techniques geared towards those with Autism. A Special Education Teacher provides academic and behavioral instruction to students on a daily basis in a classroom of up to 10 students. They play a critical role in that they carry out the IEP requirements for each student in their daily programming. The Senior Educational Media Specialist is a seasoned media specialist with at least 5 years of deep expertise in the conceptualization, design, scripting, and story boarding of educational media content. Responsibilities

  • Generates vision and strategy that guide media development projects and supports the operations of the Product Development and Classroom Design team.

The Interpreter for Deaf/Hard of Hearing facilitates communication through the use of sign-to English and English-to-sign skills. Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interprets for students who are deaf or hard of hearing (DHH) in a variety of educational settings, including, but not limited to, classroom environments, assemblies, recess, noon sport leagues, and counseling sessions using various sign language systems and voice interpretation at a normal conversational rate
  • Interprets a wide range of curriculum, including scientific and advanced placement topics
  • Consults with the teachers of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing, general education staff and typical students on the effective use of an interpreter

  • Collaborates with IEP teams to standardize signs in an educational setting
