As a director of business intelligence (BI) in the finance department, you will oversee SCADβs data and BI functions. You will lead the data and predictive functions of the business office, develop and implement a university-wide data strategy, including setting the vision for how data is used to meet objectives, and use advanced data to establish productivity measures. Among other duties, you will track and predict key recruitment metrics such as visits, applications, admissions, deposits, and enrollment. You will also measure each department's return on investment (ROI). For admissions, this will include evaluating each employee based on school visits, expenditures, and corresponding deposits.
In this role, you will establish policies for data accuracy and integrity to ensure a single source of data, champion the use of advanced analytics and predictive modeling, and implement dashboards to provide a real-time view of operational performance. You will recommend and implement strategies to preserve and grow the universityβs financial resources. Responsibilities include the development and delivery of presentations to senior management and cross-functional groups in a professional, concise, and direct manner. You will also influence business partners through diplomacy, negotiation, consensus, and leadership. Among other duties, you will establish an understanding of and perform backups for critical business office functions.

Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree in business analytics, finance, or a related field
- At least five years of progressive experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data strategy roles
- Advanced proficiency in enterprise BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, and Looker)
- Demonstrated experience supporting business office and HR functions with analytics solutions
- Proven ability to translate business needs into scalable, high-impact reports and solutions
Preferred qualifications:
- Masterβs degree (M.B.A., M.S. analytics, M.S. data science, or a related discipline)
- Direct ownership of an enterprise BI roadmap or analytics transformation initiative
- Background in highly matrixed or complex organizations with multiple data sources and stakeholders
- Track record of collaboration with senior leaders through insight-driven storytelling and strategic analysis

Leadership experience may include supervising HR professionals, attorneys, investigators, or multidisciplinary teams responsible for employee relations, compliance, investigations, or organizational advisory functions on complex and sensitive HR-related matters; establishing timelines and priorities; and providing training, coaching, and performance management.
Supervisory experience must demonstrate the ability to guide staff through complex and sensitive employment matters (i.e., investigations, claims management, and compliance oversight); exercise sound judgment in high-risk or confidential situations; provide clear, balanced recommendations to executive leadership; and align workforce practices with organizational priorities and governance requirements.
Possession of the required number of years of experience will not, in itself, be accepted as proof of qualification. Position Summary:

The Director of Foundation Relations is a key member of Reserve Careβs development team. The Director has primary responsibility for identifying, building and advancing philanthropic partnerships with foundations, corporations, and United Way offices across our 18-county service area in support of HWRβs mission and vision. This includes identification, cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation of local and national foundations for five, six and seven figure commitments. This position requires direct outreach to other disciplines including but not limited to the clinical, bereavement, facilities, and finance teams to develop partnerships on cross-departmental projects and grants. In partnership with the grant writer, this position is responsible for development of an annual foundation plan including prospecting to ensure increased revenue year over year. As appropriate, the Director will also help develop the case for support for all capital campaigns and strategic initiatives as well as institutional writing. The idea candidate will have managerial and budget experience as well as a proven track record of increased funding from foundation.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Manage a portfolio of current and prospective foundation contacts to identify the intersection of HWRβs work with the foundationβs priorities
- Create a range of foundation proposals that support the operating needs of HWR including Hospice, Pediatrics and Palliative care by region
- Strategize with key project staff members to identify annual operating, programmatic, and capital needs as prioritized by the agency
- Continually identify new foundations and corporations whose funding priorities match HWRβs needs annually; develop the strategy for initial approach, cultivation, and proposal submissions
- Manage and direct the grant cycle including proposal creation, submission, acknowledgement letters, progress and final reports which set the stage for subsequent requests
- Coordinate meetings, site visits and tours for foundation and corporation representatives, including the creation of agendas, preparation, and talking points for HWR staff
- Coordinate with HWRβs project, program, and team leaders to develop accurate and persuasive narratives, budgets, and outcome measures
- Manage the grants timeline for all funded projects including working internally to ensure all goals, objectives, budgets, and timelines are met
- Develop and implement strategies for regular communication and engagement with foundation and corporation representatives, which may include mailings and events
- As needed provide institutional voice for leadership articles, speeches, and white papers
- Maintain accurate and current electronic files on the shared drive and in the CRM
- Supervise and direct the Associate Director for all above activities
- Support all aspects of HWR Development in team planning and goal-setting sessions, prospect management, proofreading and review, working at events and reporting to management and Board

General Duties
In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include holding office hours, creating and grading quizzes and/or exams, managing and assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), and using a learning management system (e.g., bCourses at UC Berkeley, Blackboard, Canvas, etc.). For courses with discussion or lab sections, duties may include supervision, training and coordination of Graduate Student Instructors (GSIs).
For General Biology (BIO 1B) Lab Courses: The laboratory class currently covers three major sections: Evolution, Ecology, and Plant Biology/Organismal Diversity. Exercises include investigations into population genetics, phylogenetic relationships, macroevolution, bioindicators, and structure and function of organisms. BIO 1B is a gateway course to the major field of Integrative Biology that consists of three one-hour lectures and one four-hour combined discussion and lab each week. Lecturers will be required to lead one discussion and lab per week, create assignments, grade assignments, attend a Friday instructional meeting, be familiar with lecture, proctor exams, hold office hours and complete other instructional duties as assigned. Senior lecturers mentor new hires and GSIs.

Cost Management:
Β· Develop the monthly business unit forecast with the Business Unit Manager.
Β· Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value-added processes, or complete re-engineering of processes and systems).
Β· Utilize tools to monitor department cost and cost trends, striving continuously to improve value.
Β· Provide feedback to Business Unit Manager and Assistant Operations Manager on costs and cost trends.
Forecast Development and Accuracy:
Β· Prepare timely forecasts for the workcell.
Β· Compare forward forecast results to historical actual results for trend assessment and analysis.
Β· Complete variance of actual results versus the forecast on time and communicate results to Business Unit Manger, Assistant Operations Manager, Operations Manager and Workcell Team.
