Job Description
- Prepare or assist staff to prepare geotechnical reports.
- Respond to geotechnical related requests from job sites.
- Delegate tasks, visits, and activities to staff and project geotechnical professionals.
- Develop relations with Fenagh Geotechnical staff in your region through weekly video meetings and in person visits with each on a quarterly basis.
- Develop relations with other Fenagh Geotechnical Services Managers through weekly video meetings and co attendance at conferences and offices quarterly..
- Develop and recruit geotechnical staff with assistance from all leadership to maintain good work-life balance.
- Provide review of requests for geotechnical proposals and advise on level of effort.
- Comprehend geotechnical proposals by others and prepare schedule of work.
- Prepare marketing writeups for new proposals as requested.
- Manage the progress of active investigations weekly by discussing ongoing steps with staff.
- Attend mandatory pre-drill and post drill meetings with staff and principals as needed.
- Prepare and present trainings to staff (and clients) on geological and geotechnical services.
- Assess risk of field investigations and travel where appropriate for oversight and training.
- Travel may be required to any Fenagh office location, or client location.
Requirements
- IL PE required
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
- 5 plus years of Geotechnical engineering experience.

Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory tests on concrete samples to verify compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Perform quality inspections of construction materials, including concrete forms and masonry components, ensuring adherence to design plans and safety regulations.
- Collect and analyze data related to concrete curing, strength, and durability to support quality assurance processes.
- Assist with construction site inspections, verifying proper installation of concrete forming systems and masonry work.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with contracts, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Document inspection findings, test results, and site observations accurately for reporting purposes.
- Support quality control teams by providing detailed analysis skills to identify potential issues early in the construction process.
Experience
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I required.
- Prior laboratory experience related to concrete testing or materials analysis is required.
- Familiarity with construction inspection procedures and quality control practices enhances your effectiveness in this role.
- Demonstrated analysis skills for interpreting test data and identifying quality concerns are essential.
- Experience with data collection tools, inspection equipment, or testing devices related to concrete or masonry is required.

We are seeking a full-time Quality Control Manager to join our Seattle team.
Responsibilities
- Review and oversee daily field reports from inspectors for accuracy and completeness, and perform required submission of reports to client/ contractor reporting portal
- Ensure field staff follow correct testing procedures per project specifications (Sound Transit, WSDOT, ACI, ASTM, etc.)
- Attend Pre-construction meeting contractor and building officials, Pre-Activity meetings with contractor/client. Review/Pass on information to the company as needed.
- Perform quality reviews of field and lab reports prior to client submittal
- Coordinate with project managers and dispatch to ensure proper staffing and coverage
- Act as point of contact for field technicians regarding testing procedures, report issues, and field challenges
- Maintain up-to-date certifications required for project oversight (WABO, ACI, ICC, etc.)
- Review inspection schedules to ensure timely coverage of required testing
- Flag non-conforming work and follow up with corrective action documentation
- Communicate with clients and contractors as needed to clarify scope or resolve field issues
- Provide coaching and feedback to field staff to ensure high-quality performance
- Track and ensure compliance with project-specific reporting requirements
- Support lab staff in sample intake, testing, and reporting as needed
- Assist with invoicing support (e.g., confirming inspection dates/hours, equipment usage)
Requirements
- 10+ years experience in a QC Inspector or QC Manager Role for Sound Transit, WSDOT or related projects.
- WABO RC, PC, PA, PI and ICC RC, PT, certifications or more recommended. WAQTC Certifications for Soils and Asphalt are recommended.
