About the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology
The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology is one of the largest producers of electrical engineers and computer engineers in the United States. Almost 2,600 students are enrolled in the School's graduate and undergraduate programs, and in the last academic year, 801 degrees were awarded. All ECE undergraduate and graduate programs are in the top five of the most recent college rankings by U.S. News & World Report.
In addition to the main campus in Atlanta, Georgia, ECE also has permanent operations at Georgia Tech-Lorraine in France and Georgia Tech-Shenzhen in China. Job Summary
The Ultrasound Imaging and Therapeutics Research Laboratory ( ) seeks self-motivated and talented individuals to participate in and support operations of a research laboratory. Our mission is to develop and translate approaches, devices, algorithms, and agents with clinical impact based on a synergistic combination of biomedical imaging, image-guided therapy, and bionanotechnology. Overall, we are a collaborative, full-spectrum research group leading the discovery, development, and integration of biomedical imaging technologies and theranostic agents for both fundamental research and clinical applications.
The Ultrasound Imaging and Therapeutics Research Laboratory is part of the School of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE), and the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at Georgia Institute of Technology and Emory University School of Medicine.
The research engineer will provide technical oversight of the research laboratory operations focused on in-vitro/preclinical/clinical imaging. The responsibilities will include daily interactions with graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, clinical collaborators, and other researchers, technical and other support to research staff, and direct reporting to the Principal Investigator.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Designing and fabricating electro-mechanical systems;
- Facilitate construction and maintenance of custom lab equipment (ultrasound transducers and imaging systems, laser systems, motorized linear axis and robotic positioners, etc.);
- Maintain instrumentation, implement best practices and training;
- Serve as a technical source for the researchers in the laboratory;
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related area.
Preferred Qualifications
- B.S. (M.S. preferred) in science or engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering, Physics, Biophysics, Chemistry, Biology);
- Experience in mechanical fabrication and/or circuitry;
- Experience with ultrasound or laser systems including NDE, diagnostic/therapeutic ultrasound, nanosecond pulsed lasers;
- Programming skills in Matlab, LabVIEW, Python, C++ desirable;
- Ability to assess and remedy difficult problems and situations quickly and efficiently;
- Ability to work well alone as well as in a team environment;
- Ability to work in physical, hands on environment;
- Ability to act independently on technical matters pertaining to projects and laboratory;
- Exhibits creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in conducting research programs/projects.

Job Summary
The Kwong lab in the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for a non tenure-track research faculty position in Laboratory for Synthetic Immunity.
The Laboratory for Synthetic Immunity (LSI) is an interdisciplinary research group in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech & Emory School of Medicine. Founded in 2014 by Director Dr. Gabe Kwong, the mission of LSI is to pioneer the next wave of immunotherapies and diagnostics to intercept diseases at an early stage and develop treatments that drive deep responses to meaningfully improve patient outcomes.
We are currently seeking exceptional individuals to join our research group as a Research Scientist. The successful candidate will be a motivated and creative individual that will pioneer new categories of immune biosensors that leverage design principles from synthetic biology and cell engineering for early cancer detection. They will take a lead role in experimental design, execution of experiments, and interpretation of results to achieve the major objectives of the project.

Responsibilities
- Work closely with the director and lab members in experimental design, bench and animal studies,
- Play a lead role in regular internal project meetings and data reviews.

- Work with the lab director and university officials in grant administration, project budgets, and scientific reporting.
- Play a lead role in drafting manuscripts and grant applications.

Research Scientist I
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field
Research Scientist II

- A Doctoral degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Immunology, or related fields with deep expertise in cancer immunology and/or biosensors.
- Expertise in the design and testing of sense-and-respond biocircuits for cancer therapy or diagnostics.
- Proficiency in cell and molecular biology techniques including sterile technique, cell culture, chromatography, electrophoresis, and flow cytometry.
- Proficiency in animal studies including live animal imaging, animal handling and drug administration, necropsy and cell isolation.
- Skilled in molecular cloning, lentivirus production, T cell transduction, protein production and purification.
- Experience with T cell isolation, tumor inoculation; isolation, and dissociation of mouse tumor xenografts.
- Experience with qPCR, next-generation sequencing (NGS) library preparation, NGS data analysis is plus.
- Proficiency with statistical software like SPSS and/or GraphPad Prism.
- Excellent organizational, communication, time-management, and collaboration skills are required.
- Demonstrated desire to mentor graduate and/or undergraduate students.

Job Summary
The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering is seeking to hire Research Scientist.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Conceive, plan, and conduct individual research in broad areas relevant to the mission of the laboratory (imaging, therapy and contrast/therapeutic agents.
- Serve as the technical lead for the laboratory in your area of expertise.
- Plan and direct a number of collaborative research projects including coordination of research activities between groups and disciplines.
- Develop new instruments, materials, processes, scientific methods, approaches and algorithms.
- Responsible for directing others; plans, organizes, and supervises the work of laboratory scientists, engineers, and technicians. Evaluate progress and results obtained, recommend major changes to achieve overall objectives.
- Participate in strategic planning; key role in identifying and acquiring research funding.
- Review schedules, cost and documentation to ensure success of projects.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

The research coordinator’s main function is to advance clinical research studies for outpatient and inpatient departments of The Guthrie Clinic. Weekly travel between sites in Sayre, PA and Binghamton, NY is required.
Experience:
Knowledge of federal regulations related to research, documented experience with study coordination, and documented training of Good Clinical Practice research standards training. The completion of CITI Basic Research course regarding Human Subject’s Protection Training is required within one month of employment.
Education:
Must meet one of the following categories:
- Five years’ experience in a Clinical Research office with certification as a Clinical Research Professional, or
- Associate Degree in applied science with five years’ experience in the medical field, or
- Bachelor of Science degree with one-year experience in a research facility/hospital setting.
Essential Functions:
1. Coordinate specific projects. Project coordination requires meeting sponsor specific training requirements prior to initiation, assuring team members have met sponsor training, training team members to delegated duties, supporting regulatory specialist with sponsor communications, maintaining study supply inventory, and supporting monitors during visits.
2. Coordinate individual research participant’s visits. This coordination for the patient includes screening, enrolling, organizing patient visits to meet study requirements at specific protocol timelines, performing patient interviews related study assessments, dispense prescribed study medication, determine medication compliance, and follow-up on correspondences with patients related to the study.
3. Perform timely and accurate updates to protocol management system at Guthrie and the data submission to the sponsor. Guthrie’s updates include patient protocol enrollments, document submissions to IRB, and event management of patient follow-up visits. Submit research data to sponsor via the appropriate sponsor case report form submission process after review for accuracy and validation of information is obtained. Maintain study enrollment records from screening to study closure.
4. Contribute to the Clinical Research Department team. Support activities of others on the team. Provide cross coverage of research protocols as needed to support the total research department.
Other Duties:
1. Collaborate with executive director, manager, research team members and IRB coordinator in developing and revising process flow for research procedures.
2. Attend training seminars and conferences as required by sponsor of research study.
3. Make presentations of study information to groups of physicians and patients.
4. Assist physicians in protocol development.
5. Advise department manager on resource utilization and training needs.
6. It is understood that this description is not intended to be all-inclusive and that other duties may be assigned as necessary in the performance of this position.

Title: AI Research Scientist
Location: San Jose, CA
Responsibilities:
- Design, execute, and analyze machine learning experiments, establishing strong baselines and selecting appropriate evaluation metrics.
- Stay up to date with the latest AI research; identify, adapt, and validate novel techniques for company-specific use cases.
- Define rigorous evaluation protocols, including offline metrics, user studies, and adversarial (red team) testing to ensure statistical soundness.
- Specify data and annotation requirements; develop annotation guidelines and oversee quality control processes.
- Collaborate closely with domain experts, product managers, and engineering teams to refine problem statements and operational constraints.
- Develop reusable research assets such as datasets, modular code components, evaluation suites, and comprehensive documentation.
- Work alongside ML Engineers to optimize training and inference pipelines, ensuring seamless integration into production systems.
- Contribute to academic publications and represent the company in research communities, as needed.
Educational Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Candidates with a master’s degree and exceptional research or industry experience will also be considered.
Industry Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience in AI/ML research roles, ideally in applied or product-focused environments.
- Demonstrated success in delivering research-driven solutions that have been deployed in production.
- Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams across research, engineering, and product.
- Publications in top-tier AI/ML conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ACL, CVPR) are a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Strong foundational knowledge in machine learning and deep learning algorithms.
- Hands-on experience with PEFT/LoRA, adapters, fine-tuning techniques, and RLHF/RLAIF (e.g., PPO, DPO, GRPO).
- Ability to read, implement, and adapt state-of-the-art research papers to real-world use cases.
- Proficiency in hypothesis-driven experimentation, ablation studies, and statistically sound evaluations.
- Advanced programming skills in Python (preferred), C++, or Java.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, Hugging Face, NumPy, etc.
- Strong mathematical foundations in probability, linear algebra, and calculus.
- Domain expertise in one or more areas: natural language processing (NLP), symbolic reasoning, speech processing, etc.
- Ability to translate research insights into roadmaps, technical specifications, and product improvements.

Job Summary
The School of Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) at GA Tech is seeking to hire a Research Engineer (Open Rank) to serve as a Product Manager. CSE is enhancing our impact on the Georgia Tech ecosystem through new programs that help students become better Research Software Engineers. With this increased capacity, we will amplify the impact of research conducted by Georgia Tech's scientific community. We are expanding our team of 6 professional software engineers (with varying degrees of industry experience) to include a Product Manager who is excited about working in a highly dynamic and research-oriented environment.
This is a hybrid working position.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Georgia Tech faculty to identify areas of scientific research likely to benefit from dedicated Research Software Engineering.
- Establish goals and requirements to create new functionality that maximize Research Software Engineering contributions.
- Pair students with Research Software Engineering mentors in the Center for Scientific Software Engineering.
- Partner with student Research Software Engineers to create development plans that deliver agreed-upon functionality.
- Monitor the progress of student Research Software Engineers as they embark on established development plans.
- Refine CSSE team processes to achieve our collective goals more efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will play an active role in advancing the mission of the Implementation Science Research Lab and the Department of Population Health Sciences. Specific responsibilities include:
