As a Sous Chef, you will cook at the highest level as well as lead a culinary team for our Signature Restaurants. • Expertise in all aspects of Culinary Arts, such as butchery, saucier, pastry and modern techniques

• Superior knowledge in different cuisine styles, such as French, Spanish, Italian, Mediterranean, American regional and Asian

• The ability to strategically and thoughtfully write and implement seasonally inspired menus 

• Build Teams through trust, collaboration, and education.

• Effectively communicate the vision of Signature Restaurants

• Manage cost: Food cost, kitchen labor, etc

• Able to cultivate and foster strong relationships with fellow Artisans, Farmers, Fishmongers, Ranchers and Foragers

• 5 plus years of Culinary Management experience in a fine dining environment

• Strong written/communication skills

• Computer skills, especially with Excel

• Understanding of cost and ability to take ownership of restaurant operations

• Strong kitchen, organizational, and time management skills

• Ability to work a flexible schedule with variable shifts and days off in a rapidly changing environment

• Superior knowledge of quality ingredients and how to execute fine dining

• Understanding of Wine pairing and service trends

More about you

• No high school diploma or GED required

We are seeking an experienced pastry chef manager to join our campus dining team. This position will oversee pastries, baked goods, and dessert production for the catering department and all the dining facilities on campus. This is an amazing team with a strong positive culture.

Production Pastry Chef Manager Responsibilities:

• Assist the unit manager in overseeing food production operations, with a focus on bakery systems
• Supervise and support daily activities of a team of 12 to 15 members, including union staff, student employees, and student managers
• Provide coaching, training, and development to ensure consistent performance and adherence to standards
• Ensure the preparation and execution of high-quality food in alignment with established menus
• Monitor service efficiency and contribute to a positive, customer-focused dining experience
• Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements

Production Pastry Chef Manager Requirements:

• Associate's degree or higher in food service or related field preferred
• Baking/Pastry Certificate or formal training and experience required
• 2+ years progressive experience managing a similar food service operation

OB/GYN Practice:

• Step into an established practice from day one that sees 32-35  new patients monthly. We offer a flexible 4-day work week in the office and dedicated surgery block time—no current robotics program.
• Outpatient offices are located in  Morris (on the main hospital campus),  Channahon (offering ancillary, primary, specialty care, and advanced Cardio and Imaging services),  Ottawa, and a multi-specialty site in  Diamond-Coal City .
• In-office procedures include, but are not limited to, LEEP, cryotherapy, colposcopy, vulvar biopsy, Nexplanon, IUD insertion, US/US-guided biopsy, or IUD and Hysterosonogram. Urology and GYN/ONC available by referral.
• Work with an outstanding employed group who help each other all the time and have a phenomenal reputation;  Dr. Douglas Toussaint ,  Dr. Andrea Chen ,  Dr. Victoria Ochoa ,  Dr. Mary Fitzgibbon ,  Dr. Leticia Setrini-Best ,  Dr. Yahaira Aramburo &  Heidi Miller, APRN .
• Enjoy 1:5 Call at  one hospital with a call stipend of $450 per day. Level II Perinatal Center Family Birthing Suite Unit includes dedicated OR, 8 LDRP rooms, and 4 NST/Triage rooms – Anesthesiologists and Pediatricians available at all times.  Average of 50 deliveries per month between OB/GYNs ; about 600 births per year, with a large number of high-risk pregnancies. OBGYNs are required to live in Morris and have a 20-minute response time.
• We have a tertiary affiliation with  Loyola University Medical Center for mothers and babies who require an even higher level of care, as we are a Level II Perinatal Care Provider with strong referral relationships with MFM at Loyola.  Candidate must be comfortable with high-risk obstetrics.  Our obstetrical nurses are highly trained and care for moms and babies throughout labor and after delivery. Classes are available for our expectant families.
