POSITION SUMMARY

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Execution & Operational Excellence

• Full Project Ownership: Drive the execution of project scope, schedule, and budget with a focus on precision and resource efficiency in a fast-paced field environment.
• Margin Protection: Proactively manage project financials by identifying scope changes early and securing fair pricing through a rigorous change-management process, without sacrificing quality or timeliness.
• Client Stewardship: Act as the primary face of Hatfield Construction, building high-trust relationships with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors through clear, consistent, and professional communication.  Manage the client’s overall project experience by ensuring transparent communication and professional delivery at every stage of the project lifecycle.  
• Process Contribution: Serve as a key voice in refining our standard operating procedures (SOPs) as we implement new technologies and professionalize our project management lifecycle.
• Operational Accountability: Lead the project team, including fellow employees and external stakeholders, with a high level of accountability to ensure project goals are achieved.  

Leadership & Strategic Coordination

• Field Partnership: Collaborate closely with superintendents and foremen to ensure the "boots on the ground" have the data, materials, and equipment needed to maintain momentum.
• Agile Problem Solving: Navigate the unique logistical challenges of heavy civil work with a solution-oriented mindset, pivoting quickly as site conditions or priorities shift.
• Modernization: Champion the transition to digital-first management tools (e.g., Procore), ensuring that project data is accurate, accessible, and actionable.
• Principal  Representation: Serve as the face of Hatfield Construction for all stakeholders during kick-offs, job walks, and official correspondence.  

Technical Integrity & Safety

• Quality Assurance: Ensure all site-work, from utilities to mass grading, meets our high standards for technical excellence and engineering compliance.
• Safety Leadership: Foster a "Safety First" culture on every jobsite, ensuring compliance with OSHA 30 standards and promoting a zero-incident environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Professional Profile

• Experience: 8–10+ years of progressive project management experience in heavy civil construction (site work, mass grading, and utility infrastructure), including knowledge of construction costing, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, project accounting, and engineering principles & techniques.
• Licensure: Valid MA Construction Supervisor License (CSL) and OSHA 30 are required.
• Communication: Highly professional communication skills, including the ability to deal proactively with challenging situations directly and constructively, are critical to success in this role.
• Adaptability: A proven track record of succeeding in growth-stage companies where "wearing multiple hats" and taking initiative are keys to success.
• Tech Proficiency: Strong overall computer skills and proficiency in estimating software.
• Systems Expertise: Advanced aptitude for construction management software (Procore) and the ability to interpret complex civil drawings and specifications.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred; equivalent field leadership experience highly valued.

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring raw materials, components, and services required for the manufacturing of tape and adhesive products. This role ensures cost-effective purchasing strategies, supplier performance management, material availability, and alignment with production schedules while maintaining high quality and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate has experience in the tape, coatings, or adhesive manufacturing industry and understands key raw materials, including films, release liners, resins, rubber, acrylics, silicones, solvents, packaging materials, and specialty chemicals.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Procurement

• Develop and execute purchasing strategies for raw materials, chemicals, packaging, and MRO supplies
• Work with the Manufacturing, Lab, and Product Development teams to source and qualify suppliers for films, adhesives, release liners, coatings, and related materials
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, and supply agreements
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and lead cost-reduction initiatives
• Monitor commodity trends and raw material market fluctuations

Supplier Management

• Evaluate supplier performance for quality, delivery, cost, and service
• Conduct supplier audits and maintain strong vendor relationships
• Resolve supply disruptions and material shortages

Inventory & Production Support

• Collaborate with production planning to ensure timely material availability
• Maintain optimal inventory levels to balance cost and service
• Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to manage incoming materials

Compliance & Quality

• Ensure materials meet product specifications and regulatory requirements
• Maintain documentation for SDS, compliance certifications, and quality standards
• Support quality investigations related to raw material defects
• Understanding and working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in manufacturing
• Experience in tape, adhesive, coatings, chemical, or converting industries strongly preferred
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills
• Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
• Understanding of raw material markets (films, resins, rubber, acrylics, solvents, packaging)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing a procurement team
• Familiarity with global sourcing and import/export regulations
• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience

Website: – Lead Optical Characterization Engineer

Reporting to the CTO, the Lead Optical Characterization Engineer will collaborate with a talented team of engineers and scientists to test and evaluate cutting-edge Myrias Optics components and systems. Specifically, this position will lead experimental characterization of optical components, define and set up optical characterization systems, establish test and characterization procedures, develop efficient data acquisition and analysis methodologies, and grow and manage the optical characterization team. This role is ideal for someone with strong system-level thinking and hands-on optical experience, who is eager to lead complex interdisciplinary projects and mentor junior staff. You will serve as a bridge between software, hardware, and optical domains, ensuring our systems meet stringent performance and quality benchmarks. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and capable engineer to gain expertise in the growing fields of meta-optics, waveguides, and diffractive optics. Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Systems Engineering

• Lead cross-functional efforts in the development and integration of optical test systems.
• Define and enforce system-level requirements, test procedures, and verification protocols.
• Coordinate resources and timelines for optical characterization projects from concept to execution.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to a growing team of engineers and technicians.

Optical Characterization and Metrology

• Design optical systems for high volume screening and characterization of wafer level optics operating in mass production environments.
• Execute precise optical measurements and characterization utilizing systems involving lasers, fiber optics, cameras, and power meters.
• Establish designs and processes for alignment and integration of optical components into custom assemblies.
• Develop calibration and validation methods to ensure high measurement fidelity and reproducibility.

Software and Automation Integration

• Oversee or contribute to development of software tools for machine control, data acquisition, and image processing.
• Drive system automation strategies for scalable and repeatable test and metrology setups.

Quality Control and Troubleshooting

• Establish quality assurance workflows, analyze measurement data, and resolve systemic performance issues.
• Manage root cause analysis and continuous improvement for metrology tools and setups.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with design and fabrication teams to influence product and measurement fixture development for testability.
• Maintain detailed technical documentation, review reports, and communicate project updates across teams.

Qualifications and Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 5 years in optical engineering, systems engineering, or optical characterization roles.
• Demonstrated leadership or mentorship experience in a technical setting.

Technical Expertise

• Strong proficiency with optical instruments such as cameras, lasers, power meters, and fiber optics.
• Familiarity with machine control programming in Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar.
• Experience integrating hardware/software in optical test setups.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Master's or Ph.D. preferred.

Skills

• Deep understanding of optical principles (reflection, refraction, alignment, metrology).
• Strong systems thinking and analytical skills for debugging and optimization.
• Excellent communication skills for technical collaboration and leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with real-time control systems and/or machine vision.
• Familiarity with optical design tools (e.g., Zemax) and mechanical design tools (e.g., SolidWorks).
• Background in fast-paced R&D, manufacturing, or laboratory environments.
