  • Implement plans to ensure business, technical and customer requirements are achieved. Assign authority and responsibilities to employees to execute product design and development.

  • Review plan execution, makes appropriate adjustments and resolves issues.

  • Monitor appropriate metrics to ensure performance to plan.

  • Report cost, schedule, and technical performance to program leadership.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • 5+ years of experience in Loads & Dynamics engineering

  • 3+ years of experience leading teams

  • Active Secret Clearance

Position description

The Department of Nuclear Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley is generating an applicant pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach regular and Summer Session courses, should an opening arise. In addition to classroom/laboratory teaching and preparation, general duties may include (but are not limited to) managing and mentoring graders and/or graduate student instructors (teaching assistants), holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), and maintaining a course website.



We are also seeking applicants for hourly Teacher Special Programs (TSP), should an opening arise. The TSP instructor's principal responsibility will be overseeing capstone projects in the Master of Engineering (MEng) program of the Nuclear Engineering Department. This will include the following tasks: Designing and proposing capstone projects. Helping match students into suitable projects. Meeting with each capstone project team on a regular basis to review results, manage interpersonal aspects, and maintain efficient progress. Provide critical, constructive feedback on students' written reports and oral presentations. Coordinating and participating in the MS Plan II exam of each student at the end of the capstone project period.

As a Sr. Manager, Engineering you will:

  • Manage and lead a team of talented engineers and senior individual contributors based in North America.

  • Develop and execute on a technical roadmap and strategy for your team, aligning with the department's vision and the company's business goals.

  • Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, including senior and principal-level contributors, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.

  • Partner with Engineering leaders, product managers, and partner teams to understand requirements, develop solid designs and implementations, and facilitate integration and adoption.

  • Drive and enforce best practices for the software development lifecycle, including coding standards, testing, deployment, system scalability, reliability, and security, tracking key performance indicators for engineering quality and efficiency.

  • Communicate team progress, successes, challenges, and strategic plans clearly and transparently to engineering leadership and other business stakeholders.

  • Oversee team resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing a best-of-class engineering team.

  • Work closely with customers in various geographies and partner teams (like PS and support) to ensure successful adoption of Ozone and provide technical guidance for enterprise customers running 100s of petabytes-scale big data analytics and ML/AI pipelines.

  • Guide the team in contributing to the Apache open-source community.

We are excited if you have (Required Qualifications):

  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with 2+ years in an engineering management role.

  • Domain Expertise: Demonstrable experience with the design, implementation, and operation of large-scale distributed systems, particularly in storage, file systems, databases, or cloud infrastructure.

  • Technical Depth: Strong understanding of fundamental storage concepts (e.g., consistency, replication, erasure coding, caching).

  • Management Skills: Proven track record of leading and managing high-performing engineering teams, demonstrating excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. If you can point to publicly available papers, technical articles or blog posts that is a huge plus.

The Boeing Company is looking for a Systems Engineering Senior Manager – Enterprise Regulatory Administration to join our team in Everett, Washington.

The Safety, Security & Airworthiness organization is seeking to fill a Senior Manager position within the Enterprise Regulatory Administration team. This position is responsible for teams associated with the administration, oversight, and support of the FAA appointed Boeing Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) Unit, including Engineering Unit Members, Inspection Unit Members, and Project Administrators who perform functions on behalf of the FAA. This includes overseeing the appointment, training, and annual assessment of the ODA Unit Members.  This role will provide technical leadership to support the communication and resolution of complex regulatory and compliance issues with the FAA and ODA unit members.

The ideal candidate has experience in leading cross-functional teams, integration across IPTs, certification, safety, and systems engineering. The successful candidate must be qualified, in accordance with FAA Order 8100.15, to be appointed by the FAA as an Administrator for the Boeing ODA unit.

This position manages a direct-reporting team of first-level managers and non-management employees performing engineering and technical activities in the Systems Engineering skill area. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years of engineering experience
  • 3+ years of experience as a leader or manager
  • Experience and familiarity with certification processes and procedures and ODA and Applicant roles
  • Currently or previously held an FAA ODA Unit Member or Administrator or FAA Designee appointment, or is able to readily obtain an FAA appointment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • Experience with FAA regulations, policies, and procedures applicable to the ODA functions
  • 3+ years of experience working directly with the FAA and/or ODA on type Certification projects
