ChristianaCare has 3 Emergency Departments:

  • ChristianaCare Newark Campus,
  • ChristianaCare Wilmington Campus
  • Middletown Emergency Department  

Christiana Care Newark Campus is the only Level 1 Adult Trauma Center between Philadelphia and Baltimore.  ChristianaCare Wilmington Campus is a Level 3 Adult Trauma Center.  Middletown Emergency Department is a freestanding ED.  Our Emergency Departments see approximately 195,000 patients annually, servicing an average of 500 patients per day in combined visits from all 3 departments. There are 162 patient rooms, including state-of-the-art trauma resuscitation facilities between the 3 departments.

Upon successful program completion, you will be hired as a staff nurse in one of the 3 Emergency Departments within ChristianaCare. Nurse residents are required to pass State Boards and be licensed as a RN in the State of Delaware prior to starting position. Nurse residents are required to pass State Boards and be licensed as a RN in the State of Delaware (or compact state) prior to starting position. Upon hire, a commitment agreement to work at the ChristianaCare will be signed.
